5.0 out of 5 stars Keep in mind....
The thing to keep in mind with the larger SD cards is that some digital cameras and reader/writers can't read them. However, they're still good for storage and are smaller and tougher than CDS and other media. I got one of these for my camera at a very good price, then realized that my camera--only three months old---couldn't take it. So I used it for storage. These...

1.0 out of 5 stars Good Price? Not really. Bad Seller? Definitely.
Shipping is $7.99 and they don't combine items. That means that, if you buy two, your shipping will be $15.98... on two little tiny mini SD cards! I WAS going to buy four of them: $56 for the little things, $32 shipping! Lame!

1.0 out of 5 stars No point, August 8, 2006
This review is from: OEM 4GB Turbo High Speed 150x Secure Digital (SD) Card (Personal Computers)
I was mistaken when I thought that this product would work with my pda. It not only caused my ppc 6700 to crash but it jacked up my laptop as well. I thought of doing an exchange only to get an email alluding to products getting returned back all the time so I declined. There is no point on getting a refund because there are so many fees I'd probably only get four dollars back. I should have known when the shipping was nearly that of the cost of the mini sd card. I've purchased a sandisk mini sd form another seller and hope that I have more luck

These things can be baked up to hundreds of degrees, dropped in water, and they'll still survive---though I wouldn't reccomend pushing your luck.

5.0 out of 5 stars How to solve the problem to maximize the card, September 8, 2006
All large SD cards require you to section the card. So all you guys have to do is to create folders and then save the files into sectioned folders. I was able to use all 4 GB this way. I ran into this problem before and finally search and found the answer. If you just save the files straight, it max out at 1.2 or something. This is prevalent for all large SD card.

More detailed instructions on how to section:

when the SD card is in your computer or SD drive, just go to regular window explore and under FILE, hit New and name the folder, then drag all the little file underneath. For example you have a bunch of MP3's, you just drag a bunch as long as under about 1 GB each under a folder name music. It will all fit. Then create another folder, same method, give it a new name and drag additional files under there.

Keep on sectioning into separate files and you should be able to use all of your 4 GB.

i was kinda hesitant to buy this minsd after seeing the price was so low as compared to other 1GB memory cards which go for 30-50 dollars. but im actually happy with my purchase, yeah the shipping is alot but it still comes out cheaper than other cards! i used this in my sidekick 3, and its perfect for that purpose!

1.0 out of 5 stars Would not buy again, March 7, 2007
Bought two of these. 4GB SD cards, they are, 150x, they're not.

Read speed is alright, getting around 6/7 MByte/Sec (with some testing software), which I believe is on a par with other regular branded cards (don't remember what that speed qualifies in multiples, was it 45x?).

As for the writing speed, it was plain awful (less than 2 MByte/Sec). Now that's perfectly alright for my Dell pocket PCs, which I suspect cannot write faster than these cards can take, but rating the speed at 150x?!!! Come on now, why go way overboard with the specs?

I had tried both cards in a Pentax K10D D-SLR Camera and they quickly choked after just a few continuous RAW shots as the camera started to empty its buffer onto the cards, taking a very long and unreasonable time to go back online.

I've also had compatibility issues with a couple of different card readers (not recognizing the cards at all).

I might have received 2 bad cards, I don't know, maybe other reviewers can confirm if they had similar results.

Update: Flash Memory Toolkit rated these cards at 1.6 MB/s write and 8.6 MB/s read (a plain Toshiba 1GB SD was going at 2.7 MB/s write and 7.3 MB/s read)

Also, the compatibility with my card readers could have been due to the fact that 4GB is stretching out the 2 GB SD spec (i.e. it is possible that the affected card readers cannot handle the capacity)

4.0 out of 5 stars Great expansion card for my Palm T/X, January 12, 2007

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was worried that this card would not work in my Palm T/X. When I first plugged it in the PDA said it couldn't recognized the memory card. So I followed the advice in one of the reviews here by setting up some files in the card by using the card reader on my computer. I transferred a Palm file from a smaller memory card that works in my PDA to this 4GB card. My computer had no problem recognizing the card or the memory capacity of it, even though my computer is almost 3 yrs. old (I did NOT buy any special device to handle or read a 4GB card for my computer). Once I put a the file on the memory card I put it back into the T/X and it recognized it right away - and showed the proper memory capacity of the card. After this I loaded approx. 50 CD's worth of music onto it and my Palm (using the PocketTunes program that was included with the PDA) pulled up every single music file. This card is great for my music storage!! I plan on buying more of these cards so that I can travel with my whole music collection stored on only a few 4GB cards.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not 150 X - more like 50 X, November 24, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I ordered this card based on the reviews and since the previous reviews were not quite accurate, I am posting this one. The item listing claims 150X High Speed. However, compared to my A-Data 150X card this one is much slower. It is faster than my Kingston "normal" speed card but it is not 150X, more like 50X in my opinion. A 50X card is fine but I wanted 150X to reduce the time between pictures on my Canon A 640. When I replace this one, I will get another A-Data 150X SD card.

If you want 150 X, this is not the card to buy.
