Works flawlessly on Mac with Parallels...,

This review is from: OEM WIN VISTA HOME PREM SP1 32BIT ENG 1P (DVD-ROM)
I bought this OEM version of Windows XP in order to install Windows on my Mac to use with Parallels, which lets you seamlessly run Mac and Windows simultaneously and drag and drop between the two OS's. DO NOT partition your Mac first with Bootcamp - Parallels does the whole Windows installation completely seamlessly and flawlessly. Just install Parallels first, then Parallels prompts you to insert the Windows installer. Since Parallels creates a whole new virtual partition which as far as Windows is concerned is a whole brand new virgin Windows computer, you can use this OEM installer for ***HALF THE PRICE*** of buying the whole new complete Windows OS. Both the Parallels and Windows installs worked perfectly without the slightest hiccup, and Windows and Mac run perfectly on my Mac with no problems whatsoever. This was a huge relief, because I was a Windows newbie and virgin and went into this operation with more than a little trepidation. I'm happy to report everything came out perfectly. I highly recommend Parallels, which lets you run both OS's simultaneously rather than having to install Windows via Bootcamp and then have to reboot the computer to run one or the other.

I have 120 GB Macbook. Got this 32-bit Windows Home Premium DVD and successfully installed it on a 35 GB partition created by Boot Camp. Out of 35 GB, Windows OS took 10.5 GB of disk space. Satisfied!

I bought Windows Vista to use on my Intel based iMac, and it runs just as I expected it to. It is by no means a good operating system, but for those of you that need to switch over to Windows for a couple programs, this certainly will do the trick. The install was painless via Bootcamp, and the package comes with everything you need to be up and running in no time.

The OS installed flawlessly on my MacBook Air. No issues. Of note; the OS is delivered on DVD-ROM and not CD-ROM. I would ask Amazon to change their web-site info.

This product is alright, I give it a 7 out of 10. Takes awhile to get use to. Some of the new flashy bells and whistle are unnecessary and takes up a chunk of memory. I use both Mac(graphic design) and PC(gaming). I can see how Vista is trying to integrate similar features of Mac OSX by trying to go all out on the visuals which is kind of cool and lame at the same time, if anything, Vista should have gone the simpler route. I love using XP because of its simplicity, I guess Vista is something that is forced upon us to get use to and maybe one day I'll start liking it. I'm one of those guys that doesn't like to be forced change when something isn't broken and what makes me more skeptical is Windows 7 is coming out just around the corner(2009-2010). So what's going to happen to Vista then? What gives Microsoft?

Vista Home Premium with SP1 32-bit for System Builders - Review,

This review is from: OEM WIN VISTA HOME PREM SP1 32BIT ENG 1P (DVD-ROM)
Installed with little problem on HP laptop to replace the OEM 64-bit Vista OS that was incompatible with some of my most important apps (sucks).
It involved a bit more work updating the drivers and supporting bits, but it saved considerable money over buying the full version off the shelf.

I am very glad the disc worked perfectly...but I was unaware that the upgrade feature of the disc would be blocked out which I guess some people might know but I didnt. Other than that I am happy.

Windows Vista Home Premium with SP1 Upgrade
Ok, my computer works, but Vista just kicks me off the internet whenever it feels like it. I've got this smoking system and Vista turned it into a hurry up and wait piece of crap. I might as well have XP with dial-up.

I don't trust this software, and here is why.,

I recently reinstalled the Windows side of my laptop. When the install was complete and I was looking at the customized OEM desktop, I figured the job was done. I didn't update it or put it online at this point.
Then I went to a parent's house to help them clean and i figured I would use their net connection that is 10x the speed of mine for Windows Updates. As soon as I booted the Windows OS, it tells me that I must activate and it refused to let me EVEN LOG IN! Worse, the OEM disk had not installed the network drivers for the system and I couldn't activate online. I had to put my entire day on hold to deal with Microsoft's customer-disrespecting software. That made me very angry. If something requires product activation, it can nott be trusted. End of story.
