A blast from the past!!,

This review is from: OFFICIAL BASEBALL GUIDE 1965 (Paperback)
Oh, boy! What a blast from the past. I used to buy this Sporting News publication most every year when I was a lot younger. This is the guide covering the 1964 season, pointing the reader to 1965.The book tells us the details of baseball--a review of the 1964 season in both the National and American Leagues. The World Series and All-Star Game are featured. Attendance? Here we see how teams actually drew. Batting and hitting feats of the year, MVP selections, relief pitchers, and the Hall of Fame. Wow! Even hotels for each major league team! A nice feature is statistics on minor league players. More sobering, those associated with baseball who died during the year (e.g., Rube Adams, Eddie Dyer, Ken Hubbs, Ed Pipgras). This brings back a lot of memories. Glad I kept some of my old sports publications! |
