OGIO Hip Hop Messenger Bag,
By
This review is from: OGIO Hip Hop Messenger (Sports)
Decent to Very Good. Quality of the canvas, and arrangement/volume of storage compartments are excellent. I ride a motorcycle, so need a sturdy, waterproof bag. Haven't moved into the rainy season here in Seattle, we'll see. I only have 2 real gripes with the bag:1- I wish it had a 3rd point of contact from the bottom righ hand side (when worn across shoulder) connecting up to the shoulder stap for a more positive control of the bag. (I had a "Buell" bag with this feature that was stolen and have yet to find an equivilent). 2- The left hand (when worn) strap loop (long rectangular plastic) keeps twisting so that instead of being flat with the sewn-in strap and the adjustable shoulder strap nice and smooth, it turns so the straps are scruntched up, and the strap lengthens just a bit. With that said, I still think this is a pretty good product, one of the best out there, I just have very high standards for what I want in a long distance motorcycle messenger bag (I don't want to get a backpack, or use my saddle bags, because when I get to work this becomes my briefcase, so I want it to maintain a bit of a professional look) I hope this helps somebody.

Great Bag,

The bag is a great laptop bag, but for my 17 inch laptop, it's a little tight on the corners when I try to zip it up. Other than that, it's great. It has enough pockets for all of my belongings that I carry on the regular, and it's pretty sturdy, more so than a regular backpack. The strap is a little awkward, but I only notice it when I first start wearing it. I would recommend it, but honestly with messenger bags I suggest buying them in the store so you know that you like the feel of it. Buying online is a hit or miss. If I had found this one in stores, I would have bought it only if I couldn't find something better.

Good bag if you travel a lot.,

Overall, if you have a large laptop, it's really hard to find a better bag than this.I've used this bag for the last 4 years as my primary laptop bag. It comes along on flights, bike rides to work, and walks around the city. It's stylish enough for work but not overly stuffy. The compartment situation is super-convenient. The interior is organized very sensibly and can hold pretty much every electronic gadget that you need to carry in a way that you can find everything easily. When I travel abroad, it can hold my charger, camera, cellphone, wallet, passport, tissues, a couple books, etc. The exterior also has a plane boarding card holder that is convenient for going through security. My main complaint is that the shoulder strap is a little long. I'm 5'6" and the bag is often rubbing my back wheel on the bicycle, and it's a little lower than I would ideally prefer. If you're 5'8" or taller, however, this shouldn't be a problem.

Good quality overall, disappointed with strap design,

When I received this bag I was impressed with the design, storage spaces, and quality. I've used it daily for about a year now and it's held up very well. I'm able to fit my widescreen laptop, charger, cables, books, pens, and two liquid containers (water bottle and coffee thermos) in the bag without wanting for extra space. My only big complaint is the shoulder straps and the plastic strap loops that connect the straps to the bag. The plastic loops do not swivel. With the weight of the bag on the strap, the loops turn sideways and scrunch up the strap where it meets the loops. It's not a show stopper, but its is poor design. It appears that a lot of the OGIO bags have this problem. Another annoyance I've found is that the bag makes a squeak noise as I walk. It's a small thing, but it gets old--especially when you are walking and talking with another person.

This was my first Ogio product. I'd heard good things about them and their bags seemed to be of high quality. The bag itself is fantastic, but the problem is the strap. It's incredibly uncomfortable and the connectors from the strap to the bag are very low quality plastic. I would've expected a high quality O or D ring for this sort of item, not cheap plastic that binds, especially for the price you're paying. I've only been using it for a month and it's already very uncomfortable because of the strap.

I really like this bag but I could suggest a few improvements.Pros: Perfect size for a laptop and other stuff. We own a business and we also have 2 kids under 2 so I needed a bag that could double as a diaper bag/computer bag. If you only need a computer bag it might be a little bit big but perfect a student who also needs to pack books and stuff. I really like the double water bottle holders on the sides. I was specifically looking for a shoulder bag that DID NOT flap over the top. What a bother to have to throw the flap over every time you want to get in the bag - This bag is great that way - the main compartment just zips open from the top and there is a small flap for the pens and little pockets. You could possibly put your phone in one of these pockets but I didn't want to have to lift the flap every time to get to my phone. I seriously spent hours and days looking at hundreds of bags that didn't flap over and this was one of only a handful of shoulder bags that didn't flap over and that had a computer pocket (under $50) I was also looking for a bag that was unisex for my husband to use as a diaper bag also. THis color looks great and can be stylish for both me and my husband. 1. Cell phone pocket - way too small for a smartphone. It's made for a smaller phone. It's also on the wrong side of the sling/strap for me. I always sling my bag over my right shoulder, which puts the cell phone pocket in the back where I can't reach it. There really isn't another "smaller" pocket inside the bag that would be good for an iphone. So my suggestion would be to make an iphone size pocket just inside the bag so it is protected. THe sunglasses case is kinda a waste at the bottom. THere is no liner on the inside and I would never put expensive glasses at the bottom to be crushed, it is big enough for a smartphone but it is not easily accessable and kinda harder to zip open and shut every time. Overall I am satisfied with this bag and really like the padded shoulder strap that moves up and down.

This bag is BIG!,

This bag looks good! It is very sturdy, wont bend out of shape easily because the rim is lined with some kind of plastic tube inside. The pockets are very convenient and it is easy to carry around although when using it on a bike an extra strap would be more convenient to keep the bag in place. I like that you can hold the bag without having to wear it over your shoulder. Overall quality is good although have not yet tried and tested it in the rain. What I dont like about this bag is that it is really big! I am a not so big person and the bag looks and feels huge. The straps are too long for me even after I have adjusted it. This bag is def. made for larger and bigger persons. The straps are connected on eather side in a not so convenient way esp if you adjust the straps to make the loop smaller they get twisted. Also the sunglass pockets has no fleece lining so you still have to put you sunglasses in a case to make sure they wont scratch. All in all it is a good bag but do not recommend this bag for people who are not very tall and big....

I shopped a high end travel shop and saw many $200+ Messenger Bags and I then saw this bag that my son-in-law used.it's the best. Has everyting I want. Zipper pouches for phone, keys, mouse. Secure compartment for laptop. Adjustable shoulder strap. Two outside bottle or newpaper holders. And the flap that opens for so many quickly needed items, flips over from one side vs. fliping over the top handle. And it opens with one quick release strap, not two!! And having an Amazon account allowed me to purchase in seconds. I purchased two more for Associates. Six Stars!!

The bag was constructed fine; good material, good amount of pockets. I've always like Ogio bags. I ordered in blue. However, there was an intel label sewn into the material, right in the middle of the bag. Normally this wouldn't bug me, except it wasn't in any of the photos. Unless my product is powered by intel dual core processors, I don't want the label. This bag is not powered by intel dual core processors. I returned it, I'll buy it again, but over the phone, to insure I get what I paid for. If it doesn't bug you, go for it, again, the problem isn't the bag. I just didn't want the intel logo. It may just be a problem with this particular seller. |
