Almost Perfect: Organizational Master,
This review is from: OGIO Urboe Pack (Apparel)
Summary:
Six months of college use Great for organization Nice laptop compartment Good water resistance Laptop can fall out easily (if you forget to zip it up) This backpack is sturdy and well designed. It has a total of six separate compartments including the one for the laptop. Each compartment is rain proof, although, you may find during harsh downpour, water may slightly leak through the zippers especially at the upper parts of the back pack. I doubt you will find any backpack that can make the zippers water proof unless they have come up with an innovative solution. Most compartments are labeled with suggestive uses and will help the consumer organize well. Every compartment except the laptop, book, and headphone compartments contains some nice organizational devices such as mesh sleeves, pencil holders, or regular sleeves. Overall all, most compartments were great. The laptop compartment can be accessed on the side and basically places the laptop on your back while walking. This means all the weight of your books and gear will be on the laptop. The backpack seems balanced toward the front so if you accidentally drop it, the backpack usually lands without all the books coming to crash down on your laptop. Another nice feature is the cushion on the bottom of the laptop compartment, so, when you go to place the bag down quickly or hard, the cushion will hit the ground instead of your laptop. The laptop compartment is pretty good, although, there are some flaws. The cushion on the bottom is not hooked in place and can be knocked out while taking out your laptop and you may not notice and lose it forever. The next flaw is the side entrance for the laptop if left unzipped will almost always result in your laptop flipping out and smashing to the ground. People sometimes forget to close their stuff for whatever reason and it only takes one time to smash your screen. I would better to have a corner-wise or upper entrance for the laptop, so this wouldn't happen, although, the side entrance is wide and provides really easy access. I give this product four stars, because with its exceptional organizational design, great center of gravity, and pretty nice laptop compartment, there are flaws such as slight water leakage, easy to lose laptop cushion, and a must always zip laptop compartment. These things keep it from being the perfect backpack, although, it is certainly one of the best.

It has a side zipper for a space that would be right against your back, if you were wearing it, for a 17 inch laptop. My 16 inch toshiba wide screen satellite laptop fits great in it. There's another main compartment that you could fit two or three text books in right behind the computer compartment. There's a padded pocket at the top, a long narrow compartment on the side opposite the side that has the zipper for the laptop pocket, you can see that long narrow pocket in the pictures. There are also two small pockets on the outside that are clearly visible in the pictures. The straps are sturdy and padded. This backpack would work great for any normal sized laptop. a 13 inch might slide around though. I bought the bag before I even knew I was going to buy a laptop cause It was so well designed and such a good price at 20 bucks. All of the pockets came in handy and it was just made better than all the other backpacks I looked at.

Purchased this laptop backpack to fit my HP 17 inch laptop. Fits perfect with lots of padding for great protection. Also has a lot of extra room to carry other items as well. Fantastic quality, beautiful color (garnett) and got it from Amazaon (while it lasted) at a super price!! ($24.00!!) Highly recommend this laptop backpack!

First off, i would like to say i ordered this backpack without ever seeing it in person. i looked at all the photos and checked out all of the listed dimensions and read all of the reviews. I bought it because it seemed like a good choice...
I received my black urboe with the white piping(accents). I just ordered solid black but thats okay. the striping is more of a "british tooth" off-white color. the two front pockets are TOO SMALL! asthetically, the pictures lie; they sit like two very crooked british teeth unless completely stuffed to the max. Do not plan on overstuffing these extremely small pouches because the zippers collide when you open and close them. when opened, Urboe spits all of your belongings everywhere so dont keep embarassing items in there. The main pocket is not too bad. it's kind of like cave diving to actually get in it though. it does not open nearly enough. the top pocket goes with the theme of big bag with small storage. it is sewn in a way that makes it into a mail slot. I think it was intended to be a sunglass pouch because of its size and location. basically, its useless. the side pocket! its great for storing a power supply for a laptop! well... mine doesnt fit in it but it was clearly meant for that purpose. seriously, if you have a large power supply, it wont fit. and dont think about using it for other things because like the crooked front pockets, it spills your stuff everywhere when you open it. Plus if you put too much weight in this pocket, it offsets the weight of the bag to the left. not entirely bad if you already have scoliosis. speaking about the effects on the body: the shoulder straps feel like a five year old jansport. theyre paper thin and uncomfortable when my laptop is in there. The back support is just as bad. if you dont have a laptop in the pocket, the back support is awkward and creates pressure points on the top and bottom of the bag against your back. im not exagerating and i hope ogio knows about this. THE REASON I BOUGHT THIS BAG: to carry my 17" laptop (desktop replacement) it advertises up to 17" but my computer doesnt (DOES NOT)fit all the way in the laptop pouch! It will zip till the very top and then it wont close over the top of the notebook. I forced it close one time and ended up peeling off some of the paint of my brand new laptop. If you have a standard 17" laptop or smaller, i believe it will fit. My laptop is 1.7" thick and 11.8"X 15.65" it DOES NOT FIT!...and i still dont have a pocket for the power supply!!! It may seem big enough, but its whats on the inside that matters. |
