OK for an AE or is it designed more for an electric guitar?

Considering getting this, but my electric was "borrowed" years ago and now all I have is my acoustic-electric. From the descriptions in the reviews, it sounds like it was designed for a straight electric guitar, probably could be played on an AE, but maybe not as easily?

It can be played on either. As long as you have a jack for the cable to cable to plug in to. For example, I have an acoustic electric with 1/4 inch out, works fine. I also have a straight acoustic that I use a Dean Markley Pro-Mag plus with. The Pro-Mag has a cable attached. This won't work unless I also had a 1/4 inch mono Female-to-Female coupler.

The acoustic sound also causes audio issues, as you hear the actual guitar, and the distorted amped sound coming from the sound system. But it's definitely playable, and quite fun.
