Product Description

OKO H2O takes the concept of the eco-friendly water container one step further with NASA derived filtration technology, packaged in a smartly designed bottle with a super-light, high-tech blend of materials - ensuring that you're always drinking safe, pure, potable water in style. It's the ideal choice for everyday use, travelers, adventurers, hikers, yogis, runners, and anyone who needs convenient access to clean, clear, crisp water. And with 3 sizes, 6 designer colors, and 3 levels of filters, it's easy to have the ÖKO bottle that's right for you. OKO bottles are made from a customized, proprietary blend of food grade plastics that has passed stringent SGS testing for FDA food contact safety. The bottle cap is made of Tritan, a BPA-free clear hard plastic that allows you to see the water filter working as you drink. The bottle design makes it easy to carry, or use the O-ring carabiner to carry or hook the bottle onto a bag. And it's dishwasher safe and easy to clean! OKO's patent-pending filters use a positively charged electro-adsorption process to attract harmful agents and then kill bacteria on the filter surface using silver ions. The one-way Upstream Valve" allows for a steady, fast and efficient filtration with a powerful flow, filtering liquid every time it passes through the bottle's mouth and preventing the musty smell that most bottles acquire over time as liquid is inadvertently backwashed during the course of use. This combination ensures pure, fresh and clean-tasting water with every sip.

I was recently given a few of the OKO bottles as a gift. I love these bottles. Most of the time I am carrying around some sort of plastic bottle that I just refill. I know this isn't good for the environment and I have been feeling guilty about that. Once I got the OKO bottles I noticed how much better my water tasted and I didn't feel the need to buy plastic bottled water anymore, instead I just put tap water in my OKO and I am good to go. I gave one to my 13 year old niece who went to camp in Wyoming last summer. She loved the bottle and would put stream water in it. She said the stream water tasted like nickels and once it went through the OKO filter it tasted great. All of her fellow campers wanted an OKO bottle. I would definitely recommend this bottle. I recently took it to Vegas where bottled water is $10 a bottle and I just put tap water in it. It worked great.

I found this product very helpful for day to day use, as a college student i'm always on the run and it's nice to have a product which will allows me to drink clean filtered water on the go. The bottle completely changes the taste of most tap water, it makes it taste clean and pure, it's nice to be sure that the tap water that your drinking is clean even if it's from an outdoor water fountain.

When I first ordered this bottle, it was relatively new on the market with only a few reviews. I had previously used a Bobble filtered water bottle, which I liked, but felt was a bit on the flimsy side. I decided to upgrade and went ahead and bought the OKO filtered water bottle along with a spare Level 2 filter (there were no Level 1 filters available). Upon first inspection, all seemed to be well. The filter and cap seemed sturdy, and the bottle, while not particularly thick, seemed better than that of the Bobble. I rinsed the bottle and ran a liter of water through the filter, per the included instructions. All was well.

Flash forward a few weeks, and the bottle began to leak. At first, I believed that I had just failed to dry the threads on the inside of the cap and the mouth of the bottle properly. This was a big possibility since I consume a lot of water would refill the bottle around three or four times a day. A few drops would leak out, but because the filter worked exceptionally well, (filtered out the heavily chlorinated taste of the water in Long Beach) I decided I would try and live with it. After I switched to the new filter following a month or two, I was still experiencing leakage, even when I managed to dry the threads. I also thought that perhaps I wasn't tightening the bottle enough to get a good seal, so I tightened both the filter and the cap a little more. Still leaking, and at this point profusely, I inspected the filter, cap, and bottle closely. I realized that the gasket that provided a seal with the bottle was not properly seated in the cap, and furthermore, was beginning to fall apart. I attempted to rearrange the gasket to no avail.

Needless to say, I was disappointed.

I have had my waterbottle for a few month now and have used it on many hiking and camping adventures from Big Sur to Washington. Ive used it in rivers, streams, and hot springs. It always gives me clean safe water to drink!! Its cheaper then moset products on the market and easy to change the filter. If you don't have one, you should probably get one!! Love this product!

I liked it so much I purchased many of them for Christmas gifts for my friends and family! They all loved it! Even though it is made for outdoor use, sometimes I take the filter out and use the bottled water at home.

I wanted a bottle to improve the taste of the tapwater at work for drinking at my desk. I bought the Nubo, Hydros and Oko bottles. Of the three, the Nubo was the best for my purposes.

The Oko is quite heavy (top heavy, in fact, because the bottle itself is thin plastic but the filter is heavy) and not to my taste looks-wise. It improves the flavor of the water nicely, but it requires squeezing or sucking fairly hard to get the water - more work than I want to do when sipping all day. Maybe the heavy-duty filter is better for when the water contains harmful bacteria, but for desk drinking it's not the one.

The Hydros bottle is nicer looking, although the product I received was different from the product pictured on the website and in the video. You don't screw the top on after filling the way the video makes it look - you have to palm it on while preventing the rest of the top apparatus from turning, which is difficult and fussy. The side-fill doesn't work great - it needs to be on a particular angle to flow quickly enough to not have to stop and start. The flow while filling has to be quite slow even when filling from the top. The taste of the water was least improved of all three. The lid doesn't seal very well - you could not throw the bottle in a bag and be confident it won't leak. I like the social welfare mission of the company but the bottle's just okay.

The Nubo is a bit less attractive than the Hydros but more attractive than the Oko. It has the quickest fill and the most improved taste. Both caps screw on securely and haven't leaked yet. It's easy to fill and easy to drink from. Also the least expensive of the three.

I think the Oko might be the best for sport (it doesn't require unscrewing the bottle to drink from) or when the safety of the water is more of an issue.
