Not the best of the series, but the one I'd recommend first,
By
This review is from: OM Lounge, Vol 3 (Audio CD)
Volumes 1/2 were more adventurous, and, conversely, are more what everyday fans of lounge/ambient music are looking for. This volume, however, is a great place to start for the beginning lounger or curious on-looker. It is the only one of the series I would recommend to anyone who doesn't listen to the music often and intended on only buying one.It starts off a bit light, but starts to pick up around track 3 and once you get to track 5, you won't have to hit your forward button again until it's over. All in all, a solid purchase, even for non-fans who are also into jazz (smooth/contemporary or acid), house and maybe some lighter drum-n-bass (LTJ Bukem, Goldie's first record)

too laid back even for me,
This review is from: OM Lounge, Vol 3 (Audio CD)
Since I had the first 2 volumes of this series (the first is 3 stars, the second is 4) I picked this one up as well, without trying any audio samples. Honestly, I'm pretty disappointed. This is congenial and laid back a disc, with absolutely nothing standing out. The first track has a bit of spice to it, as well as track 7, but besides that it's just placid beats and occasional melodies or vocals. Lounge 2 had the great "What's Your Number" by Ian Pooley, the change of pace Ming & FS in the middle, and some better Fila Brazilla. This...well there are many other better discs out there.

A definition of lounge ....,
This review is from: OM Lounge, Vol 3 (Audio CD)
I actually find this Om Lounge a little more stimulating than the previous two. Whilst the previous incarnations have been smooth and drift along happily. 3 haunts you, you have to play it again and again, the variety of tracks is superb, it opens other musical avenues in your head, and yet the tracks still form a co-herant album.
