The price might change, this is a listing with no pictures and very little information. I don't even recall them giving any prices when they announced the special edition. Sit tight and wait, it might drop, it also might not.
"Metal Gear Rising Revengeance" could be the major work Konami have at beginning of next year. $149 is little bit higer compare to the description Amazon list "a full copy of the game, official soundtrack, Limited Edition 2-sided Steelbook, and an exclusive high-frequency katana blade plasma lamp" Even so, the game made by Kojima Productions and that could be the reason why the price for limited edition is higher.
I balked when I saw the price (its half my car payment D:). The lamp seems damn cool, but I don't want to spend over $100 to have it...no matter how sweet it would look near my PS3. I will keep my eye on it though and hope the price does drop...
ok some of you are saying lamp? But that is the japanese limited and the euro limited is the figure are ya'll sure its the lamp are ya talkin' isht? Maybe it'll be something exclusive to just america? Personally I wouldn't mind a bust xD
Not ridiculous at all. Metal Gear Solid 5 Collector's Edition goes up to 100 new (lowest I've seen). Fortunately, I lucked out though and got it for 50 bucks at a used game shop in good condition. If anything though, I suspect the price will drop after the release because Kojima's lack of "major" involvement + new developing team in charge of the game. Me being a huge MGS and RE nerd I'll probably keep my pre-order open for this.
Now if you want to talk ridiculous, consider Borderlands 2 and the Vault Collector's Edition. That goes up to 500 bucks from what I've seen.
I'll probably get it, the only question is 360 or PS3? Considering what a mess the PS3 version of Bayonetta was, 360 will probably be the way to go. Honestly though I prefer the Dualshock for this type of action game.
Bayonetta was developed on the 360 by the PG team while Sega ported the PS3 version. Both versions of Vanquish however were handled by PG and it turned out fantastic on both. I definitely prefer the dualshock myself when it comes to these kinds of action games but there shouldn't be a concern for which version to buy. I'm positive they'll be equal in terms of performance.
I saw the pic of the lamp in that link a few posts above...... It looks like it's plugged in by a thin USB cable. It looks like it's only 2 to 6 inches tall... Can anyone find out how big it really is? The box itself looks pretty big but if the lamp is really that tiny...... this shouldn't be more then 90 bucks. Asking $150 is ridiculous. Then again that could just be a price placeholder like amazon usually puts till something actually comes out.
I'd advise everyone to pre order at a store and not on amazon, so if the price is to high, just make payments each week. I ordered mine at GameStop, paying $20 dollars a week until I pay the remaining balance. $149 is pretty pricey for a game.
