5.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable sound... Toasty warm hands
I've tried most of the receivers on the market. Some are ok for their respective price when it comes to sound quality. But none of them keep your hands warm. At least not at this price point.

This receiver not only sounds like a liquid dream, it also keeps those hands nice and toasty. And we all know the ladies like them hands nice and toasty.

If there is negative star, I will give it minus five stars because I did not receive this ONKYO Stereo Receiver at all. I was cheated.

5.0 out of 5 stars Crisp two channel sound & easy to use, December 23, 2005
By
I picked the Onkyo TX-8011 up to replace an old 25w/channel JVC I'd used for years. I wanted the remote and a little more power for my Mission 70 bookshelf speakers in the bedroom. The Onkyo's sound is crisp and precise, which is to my liking. The phono jack gives me the option of hooking up my turntable if I feel inspired to play any vinyl. The Mission's 5" woofers weren't putting out bass to my liking, so I hooked up a Yamaha YST-SW215 150w powered sub woofer to top off the system (note that the Onkyo TX-8011 does not have a sub woofer output, so you'll need to buy a sub like the Yamaha that has a speaker line input if you choose to go the sub woofer route.) Bottom line: The Onkyo combined with the Mission bookshelf speakers and the Yamaha sub-woofer provide suberb sound, and I got the whole thing wired in about 15-20 minutes. It's a lot more than I ever thought I'd use in the bedroom (it's hooked up to the TV and DVD player), but find myself popping CD's into the DVD player just to listen to the great blend of trebles, mids and lows from this powerful little system. The 50w/channel Onkyo delivers great sound for a bedroom or apartment, as long as you are OK with staying with two channels. While I chose to add a sub woofer, I think the Onkyo could have driven larger speakers with 8" woofers quite satisfactorily. Strongly recommended, as is the Yamaha sub-woofer as an add-on if you are using bookshelf speakers.

5.0 out of 5 stars nice basic stereo reciever, December 16, 2006
I needed a basic stereo receiver for my Sony MB350 speakers I bought and came across a refurbished TX-8011 for $60 on the internet, what a deal. I couldn't resist so I purchased it, am very happy with the quality of the product. The only con I found was AM reception with the provided antenna was not very good, FM reception was fine. If you want a good stereo receiver and are on a budget this is a good choice.

These gloves are only for you hi-fi nuts out there. If you don't have a fine appreciation for excellent quality audio, these gloves are NOT for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Reception I have ever gotten from a pair of gloves., September 15, 2005
This review is from: ONKYO Stereo Receiver TX-8011 Black - REFURBISHED (Electronics)
My last receiver/glove combo had poor reception, I had to run around outside with my arms up in the air just to get a local channed. These Onkyo glove/receiver comes in clear even when I am just sitting around on them to warm my hands up.

This is the best Glove/receiver that I have ever used. If I even hold up one finger every channel comes in crystal clear. The reception is even decent with my hands in my pockets. You can increase the volume just by pointing to one of the speakers. Great product! Keep it up Onkyo.

5.0 out of 5 stars The magic glove for your ONKYO receivers., November 16, 2005
By
This review is from: ONKYO Stereo Receiver TX-8011 Black - REFURBISHED (Electronics)
This glove is wonderfully static-proof. If you just use your hand to adjust the settings of your receiver, the sound quality will be reduced due to the static inherent in human body. But using this high quality glove, all unnecessary statics are removed wonderingfully. Try it, you won't regret. The sound comes out of the speakers like you have never heard before. Worthly every penny!
