I was lucky enough to pick up this receiver when a retail store closed for business and clearanced this item at that time. The standard price makes this a value as the unit comes from the much respects Onkyo line of receivers.

The unit has sufficient power for all but top enthusiast and offers very good quality sound. The unit allows for some advance adjustments that more expensive models offer such as adjusting speaker distance and Dolby Prologic II and DTS decoding. The units remote is very useful and provides the abilty to integrate other Onkyo units. The remote also works incredibly well not needing direct line of sight to function the receiver.

There is the option to hook more than one set of speakers to the unit and swithc between them. This function would possibly be useful if you were to hook the unit to speakers in another room in your house. All in all I have to say that I am very pleased with this unit as an entry level receiver. I only mark it for stars for the simple reason it is an entry level receiver.
