Great sun protection,

I went to various local stores for a rashguard. I normally wear a size XL shirt. Every rashguard in the stores were super tight. So I decided to give this looser fit rash tee a try. I did as suggested and ordered one size up. I ordered an XXL and it seems a bit loose. I would suggest for others to just order your normal tee shirt size.
I live in Miami, and my back and shoulders would be burned like a lobster in the sun (even with globs of waterproof sunscreen lotion) so I started wearing a cotton tee shirt in the pool last year. Because I'm getting older and am starting to get worried about premature skin aging and skin cancer from all the sun on my back. The problem with wearing a cotton tee shirt is that when your body is out of the water the shirt is heavy and makes you feel cold. So I started using this rash tee. The rash tee is great. In the water you don't realize you are wearing anything. And out of the water it is light and comfortable. It wicks away the water quickly and doesn't feel cold. This rash tee is great in and out of the water. Also, the sun protection is better than any sunscreen lotion. This rash tee basically provides a complete sun block. The only negative is that the sunscreen that I still put on my arms, face, and neck slightly stains the rash tee. The sunscreen bottle even says "will stain some fabrics". So be careful when putting on sunscreen, because it may stain the rash tee some. I bought the solid white rash tee. Probably if you bought a rash tee with some color it wouldn't have a problem. The staining makes the white tee look a little off-white or slightly yellow. So I would recommend getting a colored rash tee instead of the solid white if you are going to use sunscreen. I have used the rash tee about five times and it is starting to show some wear. I go in the pool about twice a week during the long Miami summer. It looks like this rash tee will only last one summer season, but I also have to buy a new bathing suit about every year also because of the UV rays and pool chlorine. So, I'll probably have to buy a new rash tee every year. I've been rinsing the rash tee out with fresh water after using it in the pool to try and keep the chlorine out in hopes it will make the rash tee last longer.

Better than a T or a Surf Shirt,
By
This review is from: O'Neill Skins Short Sleeve Rash Tee (Misc.)
Loved this rash guard. It's better than a T-shirt because of the UV protection without having to put on sunscreen. Not sure of the SPF but can wear it all day without having to put on sunscreen. Rated it a 5 because of the fit. My husband has a little belly but because this fits like a loose T-shirt not a body-hugging surf shirt he does not look ridiculous in it. After having this for a month, bought a second one to have for next year.

The shirt fits like a glove, like it's supposed to. Here are my thoughts on the issues seen across all the reviews regarding fit:
If you are buying this to surf, you want it to be fitted, so in that respect "loose" in this description is a misnomer as it is relative to other rash guards that are spandex tight...it does not mean it is a loose fit like a typical baggy t-shirt. The neoprene hugs you and allows movement but leaves just a little to the imagination so to speak. I am an in between size, wearing L or XL depending on the cut. I ordered the XL in this shirt and it fits well, so if you are in between also get the larger of the sizes that you normally wear. I am an avid weight lifter, and am 5 lbs over a healthy bodyfat level, and maybe 20lbs away from a 6-pack. That being said I would not want to wear this shirt if I was significantly heavier/less fit with the size that I purchased, as there is not a lot of room left for extra weight around the mid-section and arms. In that case I can understand going up 2-3 sizes as others have in their reviews. 2115|R2SSLK4IJ0KGRO;2115|R2S3RGBAVU5FVX;2115|R2U7WK34OMU0VO;
