Product Description

Product Description

The 3/2mm O'Neill EPIC 2CT Fullsuit has been redesigned this year to make it function and feel like a suit costing twice the price! Made from 100% high-end superstretch neoprene, the EPIC is softer and stretchier than less expensive O'Neill counterparts. Sealed seams, a sealed neck closure, and a water resistant zipper do a great job of keeping the cold water from flushing your suit, while seamless paddle zones help you move while eliminating chafing. This is a great suit for any cool water sport.

Krypto Knee Padz are soft, articulated pads which protect the knees and extend the life of the suit.
O'Neill's Epic Series wetsuits features many of the same popular features as the company's high-end Psycho Series, such as a FluidFlex Firewall chest, double seal neck closure, lumbar seamless design (LSD), and reengineered covert blackout zip. Other comfort- and convenience-enhancing perks include Krypto Knee Padz, an external key pocket, and 100% super-stretch material.

Features

  • Blackout Zip: Offset zipper teeth greatly reduce water entry
  • LSD (Lumbar Seamless Design): Surfers spend significant amounts of time sitting on their boards; by using a single large panel in the rear area of the wetsuit, water entry is further minimized and stretch is maximized
  • Strategic Paddle Zones: An ergonomic, seamless undersleeve panel allows for unrestricted motion and eliminates rashing
  • Krypto Knee Padz: Abrasion-resistant, high stretch neoprene panel with ergonomic shaping designed to extend the life of the wetsuit and protect the knee while punching through waves
  • External Key Pocket: Located along the lower leg inseam and constructed of Ultraflex DS neoprene, this new key pocket is easy to access and completely secure
  • 100% Super Stretch: Made of 40% UltraFlex DS and 60% FluidFlex materials
  • Firewall Insulation: O'Neill's lightweight thermal insulation jersey wicks away moisture and increases warmth
  • GBS Seams: Double stitched partially through the surface and triple glued to create a watertight seam; tape is added to critical areas

Warranty
O'Neill wetsuits include a limited one-year manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Offset zipper teeth greatly reduce water entry.
About O'Neill
Back in1952, Jack O'Neill opened the first Surf Shop in a garage. He shaped balsa surfboards and sold accessories like paraffin wax and vests he started gluing together from neoprene. When the vests started selling, Jack decided to go into the wetsuit business, and the Surf Shop became a local gathering place. Soon surfers were riding more waves, and riding them better, in large measure because they could enjoy longer sessions in cold water in their new neoprene suits.

Surfers' territories expanded -- Northern California became a year-round surf zone, and people were surfing New Hampshire and Rhode Island in January. Explorations and transplants to surf culture opened up Oregon, Washington, and Canada. O'Neill eventually relocated to a large manufacturing facility, and his surf shop has morphed into an international company, leading the world's wetsuit market and innovating beach lifestyle sportswear in the US, Japan, and Europe.

Perfect for 55-65 degree temps.

There are small nuances that make this a great surfing wetsuit that are not obvious when comparing to other purpose-designed suits or from other manufacturers.

The suit itself is well constructed, with well sewn seams and a good zipper.

Having owned many wetsuits for surfing over the last 25 years, I found that they get a little better each year. There are small nuances that make this a great surfing wetsuit that are not obvious when comparing to other purpose-designed suits or from other manufacturers. First, O'Neill is based in Santa Cruz and the owner Jack O'Neill is a surfer from back in the early 60's and lives in a cold water environment. So you know that the president of the company is focused on cold-water surfing first and foremost. The Epic II is designed with a "firewall" chest and back. This is because over 60% of the surf time is spent straddling the board with the chest being exposed to the cold wind and air. The hard neoprene chest blocks wind and retains heat around the chest and kidneys to keep the whole blood system warm. The warm blood then circulates to keep your extremities warm. There are no seams running down the Butt area so straddling the board does not put undue stress on the rear seams. Second about 30% of the time the surfer is paddling. The arms and shoulders have a thinner super-flex neoprene with no seams in the paddle areas. This is so there is little resistance when paddling. The neck has a soft and sticky neoprene that locks out the water from "flushing" through the suit when punching through waves. The fit is completely adjustable. Finally, the lower legs are a thinner and more flexible material that allow the surfer to bend the legs fully when taking off on a wave. There is also reinforced knee pads since some of my early "diving" wetsuit would wear holes in the knees from the constant scraping the board on take-off. These are all things that only a surfer would know about wetsuits. And Jack O'Neill is an expert.Read more ›

the suit its really good, flexibility in the neoprene is the best iv seen out of this price range, the zipper does let in some water every now and then mainly when you get tossed. if your neck is soft you will have to put Vaseline or a&d ointment on but after that no prob at all. i love this suit

I bought this wetsuit to go surfing around New England area during summer and fall, water temp in mid 60s. I'm 5'9, 150 lbs, and bought the Medium-Short size. It felt extremely tight the first time, I actually thought that I bought the wrong size. But once I went into the water, it is such a perfect fit. I have absolutely no problem moving around in it and can remain in the water for hours without feeling cold. I would definitely recommend this wetsuit. I suck at surfing but at least this suit makes me look good.

I have had many wetsuits and most recently bought an ONeill Epic 3/2 for my second wetsuit. I wear it more than my more expensive wetsuit and could not be happier with the quality. Look no further as it is not rocket science even though all the articles you read want you to think it is.This suit gives you warmth, flexibility, comfort, and quality fit and all at a very reasonable cost.

Super flexible, comfy and warm. Perfect for 55-65 degree temps. I'd buy another without hesitation when this one needs replacement.

The last wetsuit I purchased was in 1985 and I amazed at how far wetsuit technology has come. I saw this on Amazon for an incredible price and couldn't pass it up. This wetsuit is great. I bought a large, I'm 5'11", 175 lbs, a 33 waist, 41+ chest, and it fits like a glove. It is incredibly light and flexible and although the back zip does occasionally let a bit of water in, there is minimal flushing when I get rolled or duck dive. I forget that I'm wearing it and the insulated chest panel does a great job at keeping my core warm. I surfed yesterday in 60 degree water and was comfortable. This is a great value wetsuit, nothing fancy but highly effective and functional.

Pros: The wetsuit is a perfect fit and almost completely watertight except for a bit at the neck, which is to be expected. It might even be a bit too warm, depending on your preferences, but I get cold easily so it's great for me. It feels a bit tight around the shoulders, but I still have a lot of mobility while wearing the suit.

Cons: My main complaint is about the packaging, which a couple of other reviewers have mentioned as well. The moment it arrived, there were already three big creases in the suit and the velcro was sticking to part of the suit, which I think resulted in some minor but visible pilling down the left thigh.

This was a great value and the issues with the creases and pilling aren't deal-breakers, but I think that my next wetsuit purchase will be in-person at the store so I can be sure it's free from defects before I buy.

Super pumped on my new wet suit. Last O'Neill wet suit I had lasted 6 years so I knew I was going to stick with this brand. Suit was received on time and was exactly as described. I would recommend this suit for moderate to mild temperatures but definitely not a cold water suit being a 3/2. Great product.
