Although this was advertised as good for adults when I first found out about it, it is perfect for kids that like a varied meal. The lunchbox is sturdy but lightweight plastic with a domed plastic top and a handle that will hold a water bottle snugly. It comes with four smaller containers and one "large" which will hold an average size sandwich cut in half and stacked. Or the large container could contain an adult size lunch salad. Four smaller 8 oz containers stack on top of the larger one. For my daughters day at school I might pack a sandwich, carrot sticks, grapes, nuts and cookies all in their own little containers. She loves it, it's more healthful than than the school food and I don't have to use lots of little plastic bags that just get thrown away. The containers are microwave safe and I have washed them in the top rack of my dishwasher on numerous occasions with no problem. As far as durability we have had it for half a school year and a summer's worth of day camps and it is like new. The only potential downside is that it is fairly large if space is an issue, 8.5" tall, 7" wide and almost 4" deep.

Another kid at my daughter's preschool has this lunchbox and I loved it so much I ordered one. It arrived with the matte coating already coming off of the plastic underneath. I was going to keep it anyway but lucky for me I wanted to wait until the weekend to switch her lunch bags. I look at the other Oots bag carried by her school friend the next morning and noticed it was cracked on the bottom corners and that the coating was a mess. I think this is a gorgeous bento style bag for an adult but not appropriate for school aged children and their roughness.

I bought these for my kids...a splurge. They were so mod and cool looking I decided to go for it.They barely lasted 2 months. The top cracked easily. I liked the containers but they were hard to close and hard to carry. They are not good for kids at all.. strap broke too..soooooo not impressed with anything but the design. |
