I bought these connectors as they don't flop around on my camera, and there are no metal buckles to scratch the camera, like some of the connectors on other brand straps (Tamrac for example).

And they are smaller so the camera fits into the bag easier. I usually always disconnect the strap, so I do like the idea of a quick disconnect.

However, it's a pretty lame idea to construct each set with different buckle ends. I know the idea behind it, but I think pretty much it was to be different, or perhaps to ensure only their products are compatible. Not sure which.

But they were cheap enough that I just bought a second pair and threw away the male ends.

By the way, the female ends attach to Tamrac's straps perfectly.

You can't go wrong with any Optech product in my book. Everything I've gotten from them is nicely designed and manufactured. All the different pieces work together. It's great. I used these on my 5DM2 while on a 25000 mile trip to 3 continents. They were the foundation that let me switch from handgrip, holster, strap and untethered shooting. Love the solid attachment and minimalistic yet flexible designs that they enable.

I bought the complete OP/Tech Super Classic Strap with Uni-Loop.
The reason I bought the 1001062 is because I wanted the shorter loop, instead of the longer one that dangles from the camera if one doesn't remove the loop from the camera.

PRO: The quality is excellent, short enough to leave on the camera permanently, only disconnect the shoulder pad.
The 3 prong connection is solid as a rock. I have trouble squeezing the tongs for a quick disconnect, which means I can trust this Uni-loop not to come apart while twisting or turning or touching the quick disconnect as has been a complaint about a competing product. I trust this Uni-loop to support my thousands dollar lenses. Gets 5 Stars.

CON: The designer needs his head examined. To install this Uni-loop is an utmost bitch. One has to fight getting the connector through the loop. The loop needed to be only 1/8" or 1/4" longer to allow an easy enough attachment or disconnect to allow the connector to pass thru the loop. It's insane as is.
A warning once attached you will not want to remove the loop from the camera, utterly nuts. I gave it 3 Stars and that's too much. For design this product get Zero stars.

I use the Dual Harness, but at times just want to use the standard strap. I put these on the ends of my original straps, and I can just clip them in.

I bought these to use with my Nikon D5100. I bought the Tamrac N45 Black Leather Padded QuickRelease Camera Strap (Black) and these fit perfectly.

The loops are a little small but they work fine, just a little hard to get them on and off, which shouldn't happen that often.

Just a key point, you can get OP/TECH USA 1301012 System Connectors (Uni Adaptor Loop) - Extra Connectors for OP/TECH USA Straps with Quick Disconnects for $1 more than this and it comes with these straps and additional connectors. That's a much better value.

I leave them connected to the camera so I can switch easily from no strap to shoulder strap to activity harness in the blink of an eye. Need to use the tip of a knife or similar tool to help feed the rather thick strap through the camera mounting slots. Rebel XS.

I had these left over from another OP/Tech system and found that by connecting one of them to a belt loop on my pants and the other to my small G-10 camera case by Lowepro I was able to clip or unclip the case as needed and keep my hands free the rest of the time. You might find it worth a try.

We also purchased the OP/TECH USA 6501032 Dual Harness, Neoprene Harness Carries 2 Cameras (Regular, Black) . But it does not have enough connectors to properly hook up both cameras using two connectors per camera. So you need this product if you wish to use two cameras with that product.

I like to customize my gear, be it a back pack, camera strap or belt. These loop/clip connectors make that so much easier. I have one set permanently attached to each of my cameras. I have another set on my back pack (held in place with small aluminum D-rings), bags and even a jacket. I use the OP/TECH USA 1301012 System Connectors (Uni Adaptor Loop) - Extra Connectors for OP/TECH USA Straps with Quick Disconnects to connect my camera to the back pack, bag, or jacket. Really handy.
