Product Description

OP/TECH USA's DOUBLE SLING offers another alternative to the ever-popular DUAL HARNESS. For those photographers wanting the feel and the fast action of the UTILITY STRAP - SLING for carrying two cameras, the DOUBLE SLING is the answer. Its U-shaped neoprene pad effectively distributes and balances the weight of two cameras while absorbing the shock of the photographer's movements. It offers the popular UNI-LOOP CONNECTORS to attach to the cameras. The strap also has added flexibility in that it can be adjusted to carry only one camera if desired. When carrying two cameras, the camera that is attached to the left side of the DOUBLE SLING will only use one Uni-Loop Connector mounted to the left side connection area of the camera. The camera mounted to the right side of the DOUBLE SLING can either use one or two connection areas on the right side of the camera depending on the type of camera. (Some cameras offer an additional connection area on the lower right side of the camera. In those cases, both Uni-Loop Connectors will be attached to the two side connection areas.) The SLING ADAPTER SYSTEM used on the DOUBLE SLING can be removed from the U-shaped pad and added to any other OP/TECH USA standard strap pad to create an over-the-shoulder sling strap. This interchangeable design gives the photographer flexibility to customize their gear to fit their ever-changing needs. Comfort, security and flexibility sum up the features of the DOUBLE SLING. Give it a try!

Go for a double strap to a single as fast as you can unbuckle your camera.

I love the Op/Tech Uniloop connector that can be attached to the camera and used with other straps.

With this strap, all the weight was shifted to my shoulders, and I was very comfortable all day.

Your other popular harness which is identical to this one (other than the way the cameras attach) has it, but why not this one? Absence of a chest strap is a huge shortcoming which deems this product useless for heavy cameras with heavy lenses attached. The harness ends up sliding all over the back and the chest any time one of the cameras is picked up because the second camera is completely off-balance with nothing to firmly secure it to your body. I like how the cameras attach to this version of your harness, so all you need to do in order to perfect this product is to add at least one chest strap (I'd love to have an option for a second one as well, so the camera straps could be connected to each other in order to avoid the wild swinging during rapid movement.) Don't worry about the added costs of chest straps, as the photo enthusiasts will have no problem paying a couple more dollars for the additional features of your potentially awesome product.

Another feature I'd like to see added, which would make your product truly unique are the adjustable straps that would run down from the straps on which the cameras slide to the belt loops of the pants. Securing the camera straps to the pant-belt would eliminate all the undesired camera swinging and would make motion of bringing the camera up to the face more quick and more fluid.

The buckles on the back need to be cushioned, because they can painfully rub against the skin. You also need to beef up and cushion all the straps that come into contact with the body in order to provide more comfort and better weight distribution, especially the bottom back parts where the neoprene connects to the straps. There are some very unpleasant pressure points that could easily be eliminated.

This is a great harness. I love the Op/Tech Uniloop connector that can be attached to the camera and used with other straps. I have a single strap when I want to use just one camera (most of the time) and love being able to simply disconnect it from the dual harness and reconnect it to the single strap with a minimum of effort. I carry a Nikon D300 on each side with a 17-55 f/2.8 on the right camera and a 80-200 f/2.8 on the left side. Stays put and works great. Cameras stay in position and the strap is secure and no problem with it sliding off. (Some wanted a strap across the chest to secure it better but it is fine for me as is.) Highly recommend it. BTW - The regular size if fine and I am 5' 10" (1/2" don't forget the 1/2!!) at 215 lbs and it adjusts fine. Again, I highly recommend it.

We own the Black Rapid Slim double strap version... in comparison - you can't! You shouldn't! They're not in the same price range...

If you are familiar with any of the OP/TECH gear then you know what to expect.

Fit & Finish
- The shoulder section of the strap is made of the neoprene material.
- The straps are the typical woven nylon type.
- The attachment of the straps themselves is via the OP/TECH customary leather (or similar material), all sewn together.
- The buckles are plastic, sturdy and reliable, but plastic...
- The camera attachment piece is the same connector piece that can be ordered separately - made of plastic with leather being the main material to hold it all together, tightly stitched to secure the nylon loop. There are 2 per side allowing double connection points to each camera.

Features that make it worthwhile:
* Light weight (compared to the Black Rapid Slim model)
* 2 attachment points for camera connectors (this is great for balancing the load of heavy camera/lens combinations. We typically run with Nikon D7000 w/ Battery Grips and either: 24-70 f/2.8, 70-200 f/2.8, 17-55 f/2.8, or 80-200 f/2.8. All combinations feel very balanced and distributed evenly.)
* Interchangeable connectors via the OP/TECH system. Go for a double strap to a single as fast as you can unbuckle your camera.

Features you should care about if you're rocking expensive equipment on an "affordable" strap:
* The buckles are plastic - so, I reinforce them with those velcro cable wrap/ties - looping them around the "coupled" buckles just like the "secure-it" product that OP/TECH sells... I have a bunch of these anyway so the cost is nil.
* 2 connection points per strap.

Not so comfortable a set up as I had hoped. I'm rather small, so it may have been too much gear dangling around my frame. I could see this being a good solution for others with more strength to manage draping 2 cameras around themselves. I found a way to configure it to carry just 1 camera by using add-on Op/Tech straps. in this way, the single camera hangs in the front. This is a much more comfortable arrangement, espevially because the back support takes the strain off your neck. come to think of it, I think I'll be switching back to this one from my Black Rapid, which, though I like, makes tripod use a hassle.

The build and the quality of this product is very good. I shot a wedding this past weekend and had this on for about seven hours and it didn't bother me at all. It was very comfortable and has a stylish look to it, to accommodate your dress ware. I would recommend this to anyone who use multi cameras for a long period of time.
