For some strange reason, the only time I care about my nails looking EXTRA good is for my trip to Las Vegas each year. I mean - I care the rest of the year how they appear - I certainly don't want everyone to see straggly-looking nails, but as long as they look reasonably good, I'm happy with just using clear nail polish applied once a week and that's it.

I had tried other nail strengtheners in the past -- cheap products such as Sally Hansen -- and pricier products such as TIPS and ProStrong. None of these worked as well as the OPI Nail Envy.

Nail Envy comes in a matte finish or natural finish (clear and shiny). I like the matte as it looks more natural. The natural finish is glossy and looks like a layer of glass on your nails.

Even though it is fairly thick when applied, it dries quickly. Nail Envy can be used as a base, a top coat or as a nail strengthener. However, if used as a nail strengthener, which I might say is the best product I've used, the results are not cumulative. Once you quit using it, your nails go back to the original brittle condition.

When used for strengthening, you must of course start out with clean dry nails. Two coats are required to start, and then every other day another coat is applied. At the end of the week you remove the Nail Envy and start over with the same routine. OPI "recommends" a non-acetone based polish remover, but I didn't have that type on hand so I used my regular acetone remover and it worked just as well. It doesn't require a lot of effort to obtain good results with this product.

I play fingerstyle guitar. My right hand nails are used as guitar picks. This is the BEST product (by far) I have come across for keeping fingernails intact. Many thanks to the product's makers!

I purchased this about a month ago. I think I have tried every type of nail strengthener that is available all to no avail. This product not only has kept my nails from cracking and breaking but also helps me keep my nail polish from chipping for almost a week!! I have tried nail bases and overcoats when I polished my nails but none of them were very effective (no what I paid for them or their claims). I put on a couple of coats of this product, polish my nails (2-3 coats) and then put on a coat of nail envy. I may have to repolish a bit on the tips (depending on how roughly I am treating my nails - but this keeps a manicure for a good week! I will never use another product except this.

OPI nail envy matte finish is a superb nail protector, with a low-gloss, natural looking shine that evens out imperfections and protects splitting and/or weak nails. One coat can last for over a week; two coats of this quick-drying enamel can last for two weeks. I am very pleased with this product.

I had suffered a vitamin deficiency that had left my nails soft and splitting all the way down to the quick. I got back on the RIGHT vitamins. Using this Nail Strengthener has returned and surpassed the hardness and strength of my nails (previously). This is VERY important to me as a guitar player who needs STRONG, Healthy nails when playing/plucking the strings with my fingers.

I ordered this because I noticed when my un-polished nails grew long, they would bend in various ways because of how I used my fingers to press buttons, etc. I know polishing your nails with color also makes them stronger, but this transparent stuff is much less obvious when it gets chipped or scratched, so I don't have to worry about messing it up. I'd say it's doing a good job of helping my nails hold their natural shape - no bending so far. I am also quite pleased with how it makes my nails look. It has a VERY faint white tint to it, which I think helps a little bit to even out blotchy colors in you nails (like purple or red). Other than that, it looks very natural. I think I will buy this again, although I'll go for the "shine" version next time.

One thing to consider (especially for men) is that although it says it's "matte," and it is certainly much less shiny than normal nail polish, it is not entirely "shine-less." It doesn't look very obvious that you have a product on your nails, but it does look like you've taken very good care of your nails. The level of shine is similar to what you'd get from a very thorough buffing (buffing is sanding your nails with a very fine grain so that they become smooth and a little shiny). If I saw a man wearing this product I probably would not think it looked "odd," it would just look like he took good care of his hands. So guys, buy it if you like, but beware you will look a tiny bit "pampered." :)

I rate the item 10 out of 10. It has a natural look on nails opaque just like real nails. No gloss at all. Also this seller rocks! it shipped really fast unfortunately my item was delivered but to the wrong address not the sellers fault but the mailman's foult!. The seller sent me a new item and in less than 3 days it was at my door!...hope to deal with again!

I started using O-P-I Nail Envy about two months ago, and for the first time in my life I have ten perfect nails.

I happened so gradually that I didn't realize that it was the O-P-I. When I ran out and sure enough, my nails started

to break . I ordered more and now I have the perfect ten forever (because I'll never stop using this polish again).

If you want ten perfect nails at the same time without all those expensive and time consuming trips to the salon, use this

polish. IT'S THE BEST!

Not thrilled with this item. I have not noticed any nail strengthening over the past 2 weeks. Also, item may have been old, as both the packaging as well as the bottle had something scraped of their labels: expiration date perhaps?? UPDATE: (one month later) My nails have now turned a disgusting mustard yellow color, and nothing seems to remove the stain!!! I rue the day I started using this strenghtener and am really afraid it is a counterfeit product that I received.

This product was recommended by a friend, because I am not allowed to wear nail polish to work & need nail protection from the job. I am still expirmenting with it. I applied the 2 coats and found it isn't as matted as I expected. It leaves a shine to my nails & looks like I'm wearing nail polish. I can't wear this to work. My nails are somewhat long so I've applied 1 coat so far to just a few tips that were cracked & peeling and a double coat to the underside of all of them. So far they are holding up and I don't see the shine this way it's not noticable & I can wear it to work. I will keep expirmenting & with any luck my nails will be stronger & protected form the job.
