Perform the following test - Get this cable and a monster cable, both around the same length. Compare the sound coming from each. Then, continue to buy the parts express cables, because you won't notice a difference other than the fancy packaging is missing and your wallet will be fatter.

This optical cable is a bargain especially for 12' long. There's really no need to spend a ton of money on an optical cable such as the Monster cable brand. Either the digital bits go through or they don't and this cable does just fine transferring those optical bits into my receiver.

I got this as a backup for a 3' optical cable i purchased in the same order, and i haven't needed to break it out yet. Considering that i got two cables (a 12' and 3') for under $10 and that a similar cable from Monster would have costed me over $30, i don't consider it a waste. Some customers have complained of high shipping costs when compared to the cost of the items shipped. This is only the case when buying one or two items at a time. If you buy multiple items (i purchased 2 optical cables, 2 s-video, a dvi cable, and a plethora of rca cables), it is worth it.

I used two 12 foot cables with a coupler for a 24 foot PCM connection between my satellite receiver and my home theater system. The Dolby 5.1 is excellent.

The optical cable is thinner than I expected, but it work and sound perfectly and I don't see the reason to pay higher price for brand name one.

Works without flaw, The price is spectacular! I also use a monster cable optical cable in my home theater and there is absolutely no performance difference.

Optical cable works great. Attached covers are simple and brilliant. Price is great. Shipping price is mildly retarded.

Great price for the item when a 6' one of these at Best Buy is $20. Thing is, the one from Best Buy fits in the outlet and stays there. This cord fits very loose and does not connect. I bought 2 of them, neither did what they were suppose to.

As much as I hate to say it, but, buy the more expensive one. At least it works.

I should have been more cautious on these after reading some reviews, but I experienced the same issue many others have. The cable falls out of my devices instead of making a firm fit. I have tried this on 4 different devices (Samsung LED TV, Apple TV box, Directv Box, Surround Sound Receiver). None of the fittings were good, and the cable simply fell out of every one. To top if off, I could never even confirmed if this cable worked or not as a result. I tried to contact the seller, but we'll see what that results in. If they follow-up with me and replace their product with a good working version, I'll update my review accordingly.

Item arrived sooner than expected in perfect condition. I would have given it a 5 star, but it is very thin. Works perfectly, easy inserted, and locks good. Cable came with protectors and in plastic bag. This is the lowest price on the net with low shipping. Unbeatable value!
