I've had presbyopia for about three years. I need reading glasses. I buy them at pharmacies, 99cent stores, wherever...and I lose them. Most of them seem to float off into the netherworld, along with missing socks. Some of them I find in various coat pockets. I found one pair in the grass when I was mowing the lawn. Then I lost them again.

When you first get these they look like cheap plastic glasses, which they are. But they work fine. The plastic looks like it would break easily, but somehow it doesn't. When you're wearing them they don't look super cheap. They're either black or brown, don't have any flowers on them or anything like that. It's hard to get attached to a pair, so when you lose them you don't feel so bad. I'm pretty sure these are about the cheapest reading glasses you can get. I'm going to get some more.

The reviews on this item are at the extreme. Great or terrible. My take:
1. They are great
2. I have owned them for almost a year and not one has broke
Perhaps if you have a bigger head these are not the glasses for you. I am, of course, referring to diameter and not to any kind of emotional evaluation.

I got these readers because I keep inexpensive pairs all over the house and in my car so I have them when I need them.

I like the styling of the frames and the lenses are excellent and distortion free. The problem is the hinges. They are so poorly made that the arms get wobbly and then the hinges break after a few days use. And I don't mean the screws come out - I mean that the hinges, which are plastic, break. It is a poor design that renders the glasses unusable in a very short period of time.

It's too bad because other than this, I love these glasses. They are lightweight, inexpensive, attractive and have good lenses. I hope the manufacturer reads this and considers making these with sturdier, metal hinges, even if it makes the price go up.

These are pretty good for the price. The lenses seem to work and I haven't noticed flaws in the lenses, that's what's really important. The frames are OK and a little cheap, but given the single digit price that's understandable.

They are a little small. Not really half glasses (though you might be able to wear them that way) but not full size. And the width is a little small too. I have a fat head, and they do bend to accommodate me, but it's a little tight feeling.

Not bad if you want to have a few pairs to leave in different places, but they don't quite work for me as something to wear for long stretches. Still, a pretty good value, especially if you're not a blockhead like me!

I just received my second order of these glasses. The quality of the lenses is as good as glass, very clear without any distortions. They are really, really light weight which makes them really comfortable and don't give me headaches like heavier glasses can. They are cheaply made, but surprisingly durable. I stepped on a pair and one arm got bent, I was actually able to bend it back into place without it breaking off, I was really surprised but pleased. I lose them before they break, which is why I just purchased more. These are inexpensive enough that I can have a pair in my office, the kitchen, the car, etc.

They're good. I put one each in the living room, bedroom and bath. Now I can read all over the apartment. And the price is great!

As someone who had perfect vision until about age 46, the transition to being a glasses wearer has been difficult. I break/lose/unknown so many pairs of glasses. I have tried getting fancy/cool/expensive ones with the theory that I would do a better job of hanging onto them than the dollar store ones. Wrong. So I was giving in and resigning myself to looking like a female Lee Iacocca or Sally Jessy Raphael depending on which pair happened to be handy. Then I found these on Amazon and I am back to stock the rooms of my house, glove box of my car and every purse I own. These do have a "cheap" feel but they look pretty darn good, and guess what. They ARE cheap. I am very satisfied with them and glad they are available on Amazon.

These were the same price or cheaper than a single pair in my local office supply or drug store. They're also half the price of a similar 3-pack at the local big box store. That's the starting point for my review as it was THE over-riding factor for this purchase.

I like the fact that with three pairs I can have them spread throughout the house, ready to use at a moment's notice. My sight has degraded to the point of having to read labels at arm's length! These are "half glasses" as someone mentioned, and I like that fact. They're built solely for close-up use, so the ability to easily glance over the top half of these glasses to look at anything over 8" away is key.

They're built of sturdy plastic and shouldn't break easily. Not horrible to look at, but I probably won't be wearing them outside of the house so what do I care!
