This review is from: ORM-D Feliway Behavior Modifier, 75 ml Spray (Misc.)
My cats were marking a spot repeatedly at my last residence and using my new furniture as a scratching post. I bought the feliway spray and sprayed it on my furniture and carpets in my new place before I moved in. So far no marking on the carpets and they use the scratching post as a scratching post not my furniture. It is going on two months now. Just bought some more to keep the good luck going.

5.0 out of 5 stars Feliway Spray, May 12, 2010

This review is from: ORM-D Feliway Behavior Modifier, 75 ml Spray (Misc.)
I read a lot of literature on the Feliway spray, including the customer reviews at Amazon. There were some very negative reviews, but I decided to give it a shot anyway. We had three cats, two were brothers, and we found a little stray kitten while our brothers were still kittens, so they all bonded nicely. Two years later some neighbor kids brought this little starving kitten, that was half dead, to us and said their parents wouldn't let them keep him. We now had three full grown male cats, and a male kitten. Within a few months, one of our males started spraying, and all the adult cats started fighting with each other. None of them had ever sprayed, and there was no real fighting beyond rough playing until that point. Out of desperation we tried the Feliway spray and it seemed to work. We decided to buy the diffusers and put one at each end of our house. MAJIC! No more spraying and the cats all get along great. They sleep together again, and groom each other. We have really been surprised because they are all males, but they were all neutered early and have been kept indoors. The three older cats had always gotten along very well until the kitten came along, but they are happy again and get along like they used to. Our "sprayer" has even taken to playing with the newcomer and they seem to be making friends. Also, our sprayer seemed continually agitated after the kitten came along, but after the Feliway he calmed down and became his charming self again. I didn't use the product correctly at first and didn't get the results I had hoped for. I reread the instructions and made some adjustments, and the product worked perfectly. It was more than my wife and I had hoped for. I realized that some of the complaints about the Feliway were probably due to customer error, or we were just extremely lucky...either way we think Feliway is terrific! The diffusers work best in our home, but the spray works best in the cat carrier for vet trips, and in our car. Both products work well if they are used the way they are designed to be used, and if the proper application is used for various circumstances. We are very grateful for this product, and recommend it highly.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some relief but..., March 18, 2009

I have a 5 1/2 year old male neutered cat that has been spraying indoors. He does have access to our yard during the day and it seems that stray cats in his territory may be the reason he is marking. It happens most generally during the night. I've consulted my vet and she said Feliway does work for "some" cats. Since using Feliway the spraying has been significantly reduced but isn't 100% controlled. Getting rid of him is not an option so I'll keep trying. Some advice ---you will have to be very consistent when using Feliway. I remove the urine with Anti- Icky-Poo cleaner as a follow up. That has to be used exactly as instructed also and really does a good job. I would say Feliway is at least worth a try. Good luck to all who have this problem.
