This sandal is comfortable, fits well, and relieves the pain from my plantar fasciitis.
They fit well and I'm happy with my purchase.
I was worried that the thong would fall apart (like they all do) but it's just as strong now as it was 500+ miles ago.

Spoke with Matt @ Orthoticship.com to get his recommendations. With all the reviews on arch-supporting flips out there, I wasn't sure where to turn (Sole, Moszkito, Orukai, Orthaheel)

Top of Matt's list were these flips, and man am I happy. Incredible arch-support (having said that I came from a pair of crappy Reef's...so anything has support compared to them). Fit like an absolute glove and look cool too. Also like the Vibram soles.

Was debating whether to try to the Sole Sport flips first as they were a bit cheaper on Amazon, but decided to go with Matt (who also said that the strap on the Sole's is a bit tight at first) and have zero regrets.

    Thanks Matt!

UPDATE - I have had these flip flops for almost a year and half now and the arch support is as good as it was when I first bought them. They have held up extremely well over almost 2 summers of constant use and am still very happy with them.

I bought these but was thinking to send them back because of the price, but the pain from my Planters Faciatis was so bad I decided to keep them and let them do their work... So far they have lessened the pain to the point that this morning I actually wondered if I still had the foot problem... I am always a skeptic to "things" helping instead of good old manual therapy, but these seem to be working..

Been suffering from PF for 6 months will little help from my family doctor. So I decided to do my OWN research on the net. Before going this route, tried Dr. Scholls insoles (useless) and stretches. My other foot started to experience pain so I needed help immediately. Well, since I work mostly from home, I wanted something light & breathable so I looked into Orthaheels. Reviews seem quite positive, with minimal regrets to the high price.

My foot arch had fallen from wearing new boots with no arch support (I didn't realize this was important at the time). So when I bought the Vionic, it was initially like walking on a pool table cue ball. Very high arch, more than I realized. But I stuck it out & wore it all day for a week. By the 2nd week, it felt quite comfy & it seemed that my PF pain dropped from 95% pain to about 15% pain. Quite tolerable. By the 3rd week, I started waking up with practically NO pain upon taking that first step. That's when I knew that Orthaheel's sandals were working quite well.

I've also tried a few other insoles but they weren't designed to restore fallen arches, but provide existing support. Now I'm able to wear high arch insoles comfortably in my boots (walk 2-miles with my dog) which I would have never been able to do without the Orthaheel sandals. Having said that, the PF pain isn't completely gone but quite tolerable. It took me years to get this condition and have almost flat feet now (they were almost flat before), so it may take time to completely eradicate PF too.

The Vionic sandals are worth every cent. Very good construction, Vibram outsoles, and firm but soft arch to help stabilize the foot & begin the recovery process for PF. From almost having to wear crutches to looking at jogging now, I have nothing but great things to say about Orthaheel.

    Verdict: I'm getting a 2nd pair & a dozen of insoles.

My Podiatrist gave me a list of recommended sandal makers for my recent Plantar Faciitis diagnosis. Orthaheel seemed to be the most orthodic-oriented. First impressions after 1 day: well contructed; hard under foot out of the box. Nicely styled (Khaki) When first putting them on I could sense the upper sole cut-out pattern under my foot which was slighly annoying, but that diminished as the sandal became body temperature. The upper sole also felt a little slippery, but that subsided after a while. And the cushioning became more obvious after a few hours of wear. My men's size 11 feet are on the wider side of medium, and these are narrow sandals. Many flip flops have the upper/straps attached on top and into the outer surface edge of the upper sole platform. Therefore those platforms necessarily must be wider to accomodate the foot and strap anchor. These have the straps anchored on the outside sandwiched between the sole and the upper platform. It is probably a more durable design, but the result is a narrower platform. So, all-in-all after a day of wearing them they have noticably "broken in" some and are comfortable, but not extremely so. Of course that's only after a day. Any flip flop needs a few weeks to really break in. The most important thing I realized was that after wearing them a while and taking them off there was a HUGE difference from going barefoot, or wearing my old Reef Flips. So they went right back on again :) Overall these are pricey but I believe you will get what you pay for. As long as they last a while. I'll up date in three months or sooner if there is anything worth mentioning (i.e. value of Vibram sole).

Excellent feel, but if you are a true half size I would go up to the next full size rather than down. Return was quick and painless! Thanks Amazon customer service.

I have used Orthaheel shoes for the past 2 years to give relief from Plantar Fasciitis, so when my husband began suffering from the same problem I immediately ordered him the Orthaheel Vionic. I had bragged on the arch technology before, but when he placed his foot in the Orthaheel for the first time, he understood the importance himself. He commented this was exactly what he was looking for in a shoe, but could not find in the various shoe stores we frequented. Nothing gave him the arch support he so desperately was searching for to take the pain out of the bottom of both of his feet. No break-in time was needed for him - in fact, he now wears them most of the time.
