4.0 out of 5 stars A remarkable product for those who need it
Foot massagers are not for everyone. I was OK with the iSqueez's vibration modes when we tried all the foot massagers at Brookstone, but was less appreciative of its kneading modes, which I thought were tight (it's supposed to be that way) and a little painful. 1.0 out of 5 stars Brookstone doesn't care about it's customers or satisfaction
Bought the isqueez along with the Brookstone Protection Plan on Feb 13, 2007 and it nearly crushed my foot on April 24th, 2007 and then it totally stopped working (just makes a grinding noise). Called the toll free number for the Protection Plan and they said the item is still under manufacter's warranty and that I'll have to call Osim. Called Osim's toll free number...

4.0 out of 5 stars A remarkable product for those who need it, September 23, 2006
Foot massagers are not for everyone. I was OK with the iSqueez's vibration modes when we tried all the foot massagers at Brookstone, but was less appreciative of its kneading modes, which I thought were tight (it's supposed to be that way) and a little painful. Nonetheless, we bought an OSIM iSqueez massage boot for my mother-in-law in December 2005. Our purchase was defective; the part that massages the calf muscles stopped working the next day. Brookstone quickly replaced the entire massage boot at no cost the day after we reported the defect. We have since had no problems with the iSqueez. As of this review in late September 2006 (some ten months later), my mother-in-law still uses the iSqueez regularly a few times a week. She finds that this massage boot helps relieve some arthritis pain and muscle tension. I've since developed an appreciation for the iSqueez's vibration modes -- they are relaxing, especially if you've spent a long day on your feet or in tight business shoes. I still don't like the kneading modes.

The iSqueez has three kneading modes and vibration modes that may be used independently or together. The three kneading modes are: Rhythmic Squeeze 1, Rhythmic Squeeze 2, and Continuous Squeeze. The three vibration modes are: Low, High, and Auto ("Rhythmic Vibration") -- which alternates between Low and High. Note that this product can really shake the ground in its vibration modes, so keep it away from things that can be damaged by vibration, such as your computer's hard drive -- this may not be so easy to do in tight metropolitan spaces. The product has a 15-minute timer that shuts off the massager after (a recommended) 15 minutes of use.

As another reviewer states, contraindications should be considered before using this product. Per the manual, these groups should consult their doctors before using the iSqueez:
"- those suffering from cancer;
- those suffering from osteoporisis;
- those suffering from malignant tumors;
- those with heart problems, and those who have a medical electronic device in their bodies;
- those who have a high-fever;
- women who are pregnant and menstruating;
- those under doctor's orders for medical rest-cure or are feeling unwell;
- those who whish to use the massager on parts of the body which have been previously treated, due to injury or sickness, or have eczema.
- those who experience undue pain on any parts of the body before using the massager."

Strongly consider purchasing a two or three-year extended warranty along with this product, as massage products typically have a short lifespan. Brookstone warranties the iSqueez for only one year. Beyond that, Brookstone (which is owned by OSIM)'s customer service department will decline to service the product. You should therefore consider the expected lifespan of the iSqueez to be the term of the extended warranty that you purchase. This rather unfortunate, but there seems to be no organized aftermarket support for out-of-warranty iSqueez massage boots at present.

If the OSIM iSqueez is a product that someone in your family might use regularly, then it is a great value. Otherwise, consider other, less expensive massage boots.

5.0 out of 5 stars I would like to rate this 10 stars - AMAZING product!, December 6, 2005

First, I want to point out that this should be rated with 10 stars. Second, the price is too high. With that said, this is an AMAZING product that actually feels like a real foot and leg massage...yes, REAL, as though there is a massuese right there with me. Whoever designed this thing should really work on designing automobile safety and airplane comfort, because she/he is a genius. I could go on and on, but you really gotta try it to believe it. A word of caution - it's hard to get away from this device once you have your feet in it. Oh, and did I mention that it's overpriced? If you have opportunity and the major cash, try it out.

Called the toll free number for the Protection Plan and they said the item is still under manufacter's warranty and that I'll have to call Osim. Called Osim's toll free number and they said I'll have to pay packing & shipping to return it for replacement. Very unfair in my opinion as they should send a pre-paid UPS or FedEx label for return of their defective product. Called the Brookstone store at Lenox Square in Atlanta where I bought it and the manager said to call Brookstone's toll free customer care line. Called the customer care line and Kelly there told me Osim and Brookstone are one- and the same company. She said it is their policy to have the customer pay for return shipping for defective products. I will never buy from Brookstone again. Their Protection Plan is a sham, their products are defective, and they don't care about their customers.

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS IS A LITTLE SLICE OF HEAVEN!, January 24, 2006
My husband bought this for me for Christmas this year because I have chronic problems with edema AND we are both runners.

Since we have had it, we have both used it every day, sometimes twice a day. It is as close to a real massage as you will get.

I, too, had some foot pain initially, but if you experiment with foot position, this ususally is resolved. If nothing else, you can always bypass the "squeeze" mode and just use "vibrate" mode.

If you have a chronic foot problem, this is the best! Be aware that there are some medical conditions that this is contraindicated for, i.e diabetic neuropathy, post cardiac surgery, so check with your MD before you purchase if you have a medical condition.

4.0 out of 5 stars nice product with a high price tag, November 15, 2006
My husband bought this for me for our anniversary after I tried it out in the Brookstones store. The I squeeze is a calf and foot massager that both squeezes and vibrates your feet and legs, it can also be set to do one or the other at different speeds.
I like the isqueeze because I have been having problems with my heel (it felt like a bone spur), and the isqueeze has pretty much eliminated the problem. I really enjoy the squeezing action of the device. My husband, however finds the machine uncomfortable and does not like to use it. So I would strongly recommend that you try this one out before buying.

Be very cautious about buying this if you have medical issues with your legs or circulation (I do think it would improve circulation), specifically do not use this if you have had a history of blood clots. The squeezing action of the machine could dislodge clots formed in the calf and could be fatal.

4.0 out of 5 stars Depends upon your feet, December 23, 2005
I got this foot massager for Christmas because I have been having problems with my achiles tendon and his calf. My wife and my daughter really liked it and were the ones that bought it for me but when I tried it my feet wouldn't fit in right, and when they did, it hurt my feet too bad. My son's feet also hurt when he tried it but the others were very pleased with it's performance. But if your giving as a gift or ordering online, note that foot size does affect performance!

5.0 out of 5 stars feet revitalizer, October 24, 2008
By
This review is from: OSIM iSqueez Foot and Calf Massager (Health and Beauty)
I recently went through chemotherapy and the symptoms are lost feelings of your feet. It was like I didn't have my feet attached to my legs.
With the iSqueeze foot and calf massager, my feet come back to life. I do the minimum on both options. I let the timer on the massager shut off by itself (15 minutes exactly). This I do twice per day, in the morning before I go to work and in the evening before I go to bed. Thank you for this wonderful massager.

3.0 out of 5 stars Feels Great, But..., December 29, 2006
By
n2Dzine (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
I tried this at a local Brookstone and loved the way it felt. My feet were tingling and felt energized, especially after a long day of shopping. I ended up getting it for Christmas. After using it for a couple of times over the course of three days, the "squeeze" function stopped working. It would run for about a minute and then just stop, trapping the feet and calves. It also smelled like like oil when I used it. I was surprised that such an expensive piece of machinery would break down so quickly. I was truly disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the money!, February 13, 2007

Hanna Banana (Jonesboro, AR USA) - See all my reviews
I have heel spurs and the iSqueez has helped considerably with the pain. It's not cheap, but it's not a "cheap-made" machine, either. I debated on this purchase for some time before buying it. It was only after seeing it featured on Good Morning America, and seeing the reactions of the audience members that I decided to give it a shot. My husband loves it also! Needless to say, we have not regretted it for an instant!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Tall Person Friendly, January 22, 2007
This item is more of a foot and ankle massager if you have long legs. I am tall with a 37" inseam. This item is not made for someone who has longer than "average" legs unless you're looking for a foot and ankle massage rather than a calf massage.
