Quality Product only 1,

This review is from: OSPST205 - Backless Stool, Saddle Seat, 22-1/2x22-1/2x25-35, Black (Electronics)
I have sciatica & can't stand for long periods, so I needed a stool in the kitchen to do tasks at the counter/sink/stove while sitting. This was the only thing in a reasonable (...) price range. Good quality materials, cushy seat. I was a little concerned that the foot rest would interfere with movement, but now am Very glad of it. In order to be high enough to work on the counters, I really need it to rest my feet on, cause I'm short (5'2"). But if you don't want to use it, you can just leave it off (Very Easy assembly). I bought the model with castors for hard floors (very smooth motion), but it does Not roll on carpet, so be sure to get the one you need (different castors for carpet). The seat also is able to tilt about 30 degrees forward. The only reason it didn't receive (...) stars, is that it's NOT really a true "saddle" seat unless you are a really BIG/TALL person? The seat measures 16" WIDE! and has only a gentle 30 degree incline to the sides, which makes you feel impossibly BOWLEGGED it you try to use it like a real saddle seat with your feet pointing forward. Because of this, if I try to incline the seat forward, I still can't touch the floor with my feet and so slide off (the saddle part is not angled high enough to keep you from sliding off). But maybe, it's not such a bad thing, because true saddle seats with smaller "footprints" put more pressure on your tush and are less comfortable (like bike seats). So despite this one major drawback, it's still a great, comfortable stool in this price range and there's nothing else remotely close, so I'm happy enough to keep it.

The saddle style seat has been a good choice for me. comfortable in spite of no back. it does feel good for my finicky lower back yet keeps me in an alert energetic seated possession. The only reason i did not give it 5 stars is b/c i also have a $1,000. version of the saddle seat which is superior in build and options but i sure paid for it. This lower price seat is a good one well worth the price.

This is probably the best sit/stand height saddle stool you're going to get for under $150. Yes, it has its flaws (the seat only tilts 30 degrees, which isn't very much when you're trying for a sit/stand posture, and it's nearly impossible to disassemble once you've put it together), BUT, pretty much everything else in this price-range is a bicycle-style saddle, which doesn't work nearly as well for promoting good posture as the equestrian-style saddle on this stool does. So, despite the flaws, this gets four stars for being better than most of the alternatives in the same price-range.
