I use these 35 watter's inside some small PAR36 cans. They beam really well, and produce maybe 20% of the heat that you'd have with a regular sealed beam....less heat means that the wires inside of the can won't dry out and crack nearly as quickly, and it's easier on the transformer.

I have around 10 cans armed with these "bulbs" in a small home studio....the useful life of these is in the years, and the light is great.
