I purchased these to put on my dogs' collars at night to keep track of them in our large yard. They work great, stay securely clipped on the collars and it's great fun to see the lights streaking around in the dark!

Why can no one make a good running light?,

Upon arrival, only two of the three lights worked. In addition, they were not as pictured-- all three had clear covers (no red). The light is not very bright and they take special batteries (this is acknowledged at purchase but inconvenient when they arrive in non-working condition). Okay value for the price but not recommended. However, since all running lights seem to be bad, maybe they're an OK option.

These seem to work very well. Over the past 5 years or so I have purchased any number of doggie blinky lights as we take our 3 dogs on regular nightly walks. They have all had problems. Some worked well initially, but almost all of them fell apart after awhile. I suspect it was from the constant shaking as they were all "Hang from the collar" types. There are neat. They have 2 screws in the rear holding the unit together. My dog wears a vest, of sorts, called a Poo Boss (Sold on Amazon). I simply remove the rear screws, place the light on the outside of the left and right side of the vest and then re-insert the screws, through the vest into the back of the light and I have a very stable item which works extremely well and is not subject to the trauma of violent shaking it would be if hung around the neck. When the batteries need changing I simply unscrew, change and re-screw, takes abou the same amount of time it would take if the lights were not mounted on the vest. My point here is that these are very good lights, and if you can find a way to mount them on your dog while avoiding the neck shaking thing, you should be well satisfied and the lights should last a while.

These things do exactly what they're supposed to. If you're looking for a great deal on blinky safety lights, these are the way to go. They're nice and bright, can be set to always-on or to blink, and come with batteries that have lasted me a few months thus far without issues (in blink mode, though I don't know if it makes a difference). The only reason I give 4 start instead of 5 is that I wish they had clips with hinges rather than plastic slide-on clips; it was kind of a pain to figure out a way to attach them to myself so as to be visible while running. I ended up getting a velcro band, wrapping it around my bicep, and clipping the lights to that. Works well, but still kind of a pain. Overall, though, probably the best for the money - I paid $5 for the set of 3, plus $5 to ship. Well worth it. |
