OSRAM BULB WITHOUT HOUSING FOR SAMSUNG BP96-01653A-BARE

I bought this a few months back to replace the bulb in my 46" Samsung DLP. My original bulb lasted 5 years. I waited to write a review on this so that I could properly evaluate whether or not this bulb would last. So far so good. There was a great YouTube video walkthrough I found [...] that was very helpful on replacing the bulb yourself. It took me about 10 to 15 minutes to replace my bulb with this one, and I haven't had any issues yet. Plus, this was way cheaper than buying through Samsung's parts reseller. So for me this worked great.

I ordered this bulb to replace the bulb in my Samsung Ultra Slim 56" DLP television. I had previously ordered the entire housing and bulb but found this to be a cheaper option. The replacement of the bulb into the housing was quite simple. I gave it four stars because there were a couple of times where the TV picture has gone out and the warning LED for Bulb Replacement on my television began to flash as if the bulb was bad. I simply waited a few seconds and turned the TV back on and it worked fine. I don't know that the bulb was in fact the culprit but I do know that I never had that problem with the other two replacements (different brand) I had previously installed. I wasn't happy when it first happened and I thought the bulb had burned out after I just purchased it. It's been several months though and things are working properly.

We ordered the light for our samsung dlp projection tv we bought in 2008. The lamp blew in 2011 so a 3 year life and we watch tv pretty normal for no kids and me and my wife work outside the home so nothing spectacular. I installed the new light and it just blew 5 months later. These lamps are garbage and the tv blows.
