Ball Joint Press,

The Tool works great.
I work for a Ford Dealership and we do a lot of Ball Joints. A few techs in the shop have the OTC Ball Joint Press and I was always having to borrow them. I believe they paid around 150.00 plus tax for the tool, I got the same tool, brand new in the box for half the price here on Amazon. I am very happy with this product. PS, OTC is the manufacturer of the Ford Rotunda Ball Joint Press, same tool with a different box.

I can't believe I thought I could have replaced my ball joints with a 4 inch c-clamp instead of this set! My plan was to buy this and maybe return it if I didn't need it or sell it when I was done. It was easy to use and worked well. The whole time I was using it I was saying to myself, "I sure am glad I bought this thing". I can't wait for my ball joints to wear out again so I can use the tool again--ok, not really, but it was a joy to use. This is one of those tools that do a specific task perfectly and more-importantly for the male of the species...intuitively without any need to read a manual.
I didn't try and use it on the vehicle, which, given the weight of the tool would have been much more difficult I think. Of course, I was going to try and use a c-clamp so maybe my predictions and estimations should be questioned. I actually didn't see obvious markings as to the tool's origin--maybe I'm blind? I'm hoping it was made in the USA. It is disturbing that nothing is manufactured in this country anymore. I know we want everything cheap, but we're going to pay for our inability to manufacture anything eventually. I'm hardly a nationalist, but we need to buy american when possible, so hopefully I did. sermon is over... If you're replacing your own ball joints (and love to buy tools instead of borrowing or renting) this tool is indispensable. I saw some reviews complaining of slow shipping. I got this delivered in 4 days with free super saver shipping.

It's a ball joint press. I would hope if your looking for one you know what it does. Haha... it's work great so far. Had to put quite a bit of "beef" behind it when trying to remove one of the old Ball Joints on my Dana 44 knuckle and it held up just fine.

Tool and Amazon review,

This product is great for removal and installation of certain ball joints and u-joints. Adaptors can be purchased separately or you can use bearing races, sockets, etc. to use as adaptors. Be sure to keep tool well oiled for longer service life. Price was excellent and shipping is fast.

I was very happy with this tool.
It worked better than expected. I was surprised the box came from China since it was Owatana Tool Company. Is nothing made in the country anymore.

This is a high quality ball joint press for a good price. It is just what I needed for my Jeep Grand Cherokee with dana 30 and made a difficult job easy. Just remember the top ball joint presses out upwards and the bottom ball joint presses out downwards! And you'll need a big hammer to get the knuckle off.

I use this for everything. The c clamp in this kit is very handy to have around. I used this tool on an 1986 Monte Carlo with original ball joints and it popped them out without a single problem. Presses them in without a single problem. Its easy to use and definitely a money saver if you are a do it yourself mechanic, so you dont have to remove control arms and take them to the parts store to be pressed, or take the car to a shop. Simply attach the proper cups and turn the screw until its out. Takes mere minutes.

The OTC 7249 Ball Joint set was a great purchase. It worked flawlessly and easily pressed out/in the ball joints on my 2001 Ford F250 . It required the use of various adapters which I did not purchase. I made my adapters out of pieces of pipe and tubing that I had. Excellent tool for the money spent.

Got this pres after reading the reviews, figured if it was good enough for a shop it would hold up. There was a delay in shipping and it took longer to get this than i expected, and i had to cancel the order and place it with a different vendor which cost me a little more, however once it did get here, I did all 4 ball joints on a jeep Cherokee, and pressed out the steering stabilizer mount. This press took all the abuse didnt even bend a little bit. still straight. Just make sure you grease up the threads before you use it. worth every penny. I also bought the jeep ball joint adapter cups for removal and installation, also worth every penny.
