I am sorry to report that this product has very shoddy metal construction. Upon arrival it looked fine and assembled easily, cushions are very thick and sturdy. However, many weeks later when our adult guest (*under* 150 lbs) used it for the first time, by the third day the metal grid in the middle section completely separated from the frame, making the bed unusable. Upon close examination, it appeared that the grid is only connected to the frame on *every other* wire, making the claim of 250 lbs weight limit unbelievable.

We sent several emails *with photos* to DBROTH regarding the situation and received only automated replies. We realized that it was far past the return limitation date and there was no hope of any compensation but were very disappointed not to receive any acknowledgement of the problem.

Bottom line: Is this a common development for *delayed use* equipment and the return expiration is a convenient way for the manufacturer to deal in cheaply made products and never be liable for replacement? We will probably never purchase from DBROTH again.

The item arrived on time with the hope that we could use it for the holiday weekend. Assembly was very easy, but the first problem occurred after we tied the top cushion to the fold out extension. As we tried to fully extend the bed and seat it onto the floor, the hinges bound and would not fully extend to allow the bed to lie flat. After examination, the very bottom frame where the legs with rollers are attached appears to either be bent, or the hinge points were welded less than 90 degrees. Since the two bed hinges must total 180 degrees to lie flat, the bed will not fully lie flat and is useless.

This is when the second problem appeared. Since we know this is a return/exchange, we've started to repackage the item and discovered the ties on the one cushion we tied to the frame have ripped.

We have contacted the Seller and are waiting on a reply, but are very skeptical that a working unit will arrive in time to use for the time we truly need it. I really cannot give it any more than one star since the entire unit is unusable. There clearly wasn't any quality control applied to this piece.

Updating on 1/17 as I realized I never provided the final closure:
The vendor was easy to work with on the return; the only odd thing was that we had to obtain a separate RMA approval for both the bed and the cover. Other than that, there were no issues and our account was credited.

My husband and I wanted this for our grandchildren to use when they stay overnight with us, as we do not have enough space for more than one single bed for guests. The 12 and 13 year olds tried it out for a few minutes each and said it is comfy (they will probably fight over who gets to sleep on it). We got the cream colored cover to blend with our other furniture. It looks nice as an ottoman/extra seating, but the cover came very wrinkled. At first I ran it through the dryer on air fluff, but it didn't do much good. After a month, most of the wrinkles are still there so I am going to steam the rest of them out. I also plan to alter a single bed mattress cover to put on it when in use as a bed.

Pros

- It folds away perfectly into a square reasonably sized ottoman just like the picture
- The pillows are thick enough that you don't feel the railing, but not so comfortable your guest want to stay forever - yay!
- It has wheels at the bottom to roll it around from one room to another
- It's comfortable enough to sit on and lay on daily for your visitors during extended stays
- Having this will keep people off of your sofa - sleeping on a sofa ruins the cushions and makes them look old and saggy!

Cons

- The bed comes with three pillows and each of the pillows have two ties on them. So, you must tie the pillows down, but chances are it won't be sturdy enough for a wild sleeper or anyone that rolls over several times during the night. My house guest rolled over and two of the ties ripped off causing the pillows to move all over the bed while she slept. I requested replacement pillows immediately and those were replaced. Each cushion should be made with four ties to secure it in place, but I guess it's no futon no sense in trying to make it one. I'm sure these cushions will eventually tear too, so this isn't a long term solution bed by any means.

- It's not a twin size bed, so there's really no sheet for it. You just have to wrap a sheet around it and hope for the best.

My tiny NY apartment is a 1 1/2 bedroom-- so basically a bedroom and an office. This little ottoman is a perfect way to turn my office into a bedroom for guests. It's a great unassuming seat that takes up little space, but then it pulls out into a rather comfortable twin bed. My friend came and stayed on it for 10 days and said she slept like a baby! I highly recommend,

I am really enjoying my ottoman bed with a denim cover. It moves around easily (almost too easily when I have my feet up). The cover is removable and can be washed in the washer. There is room for two grown people to sit (although I am not sure of the weight limit) The only problem is that when an adult sits down the hinges on one side may move a little. It doesn't do any damage. It's just the way the hinges are made. I just try to be careful and sit on the immoveable side. I have found the large flat top useful when doing crafts, etc.
The bed is more comfortable than most comparable foldout beds. I was, however, able to slightly feel the bars against my back when I laid down. I may purchase an additional foam mattress pad to lay on top of the bed for guests.

Overall, I am very, very satisfied with this purchase. It is perfect for my needs!
