Fascinating hisory lesson about the Statue of Libeerty,
By Blaine Greenfield "eclectic reader" (Belle Meade, NJ) - See all my reviews (TOP 1000 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: OUR LADY OF THE FREEDOMS and Some of Her Friends (Audio Cassette)
Heard OUR LADY OF THE FREEDOMS, a fascinating accountby writer-director Norman Corwin about how the Statue of Liberty came to America's shore . . . I liked the narration by Charles Kuralt; unfortunately, this was his final performance before he died . . . adding to my enjoyment was the fact that there was a full cast that made the dramatization of the behind-the-scenes maneuvering seem almost real. My only criticism was extra material that seemed to be added-on after the fact . . . this involved a look at American place names and seemed to have no relevance to the essential story that was told. |
