Makes Publishing for Indies a Piece of Cake!,
By BD BOOKS "Publisher and Bookseller" (NeW yORk) - See all my reviews
This review is from: OUT STANDING IN THE FIELD: The Indie Author's Two-Step Guide to Publishing in the Kindle Store ("So easy, we published it with only Windows-95 and a dial-up internet connection!") (Kindle Edition)
This was originally a review of their "Kindle Publishing Shortcut" which is indeed OUTSTANDINGly simple and can make anyone a master e-book publisher in minutes, not just in the Kindle store, either. The kindle shortcut has just been linked now to the authors' new triple publishing shortcut series (in paperback) called the Indie Empowerment Publishing Series which is loaded with more tricks and tips for marketing your books on Amazon, as well as publishing in the Kindle store and publishing professional quality e-books and paperbacks without a snag. I like that all of these instructions are presented in plain English and with a little humor. The section on creating a paperback is particularly helpful in that the authors describe how to do it using their own paperback itself as the example so you can constantly compare the physical results right in your own hand with their step-by-step instructions. Great idea!
With the international markets finally opening up in Kindle and the major publishers' reluctance to participate (YAY), both e-books and their related paperbacks published by us Indies are bound to take off at last. And not having to pay a fortune to get into this market at the ground level is winning half the merchandising game! That being the case, I've got to say that it's long overdue for a cheap, quick and fool proof how-to publish anything guide that laypersons can easily use. The ten marketing tips are a vital inclusion in this series as well and are quite resourceful and clever, too. Thanks for all these tips, guys, and nice job!

Publishing Help for the Kindle Platform? Not Really...,
By Adventure Books of Seattle (Seattle, WA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: OUT STANDING IN THE FIELD: The Indie Author's Two-Step Guide to Publishing in the Kindle Store ("So easy, we published it with only Windows-95 and a dial-up internet connection!") (Kindle Edition)
There are many publications available for the Kindle that assist in publishing your book in a professional-looking format. Unfortunately, this is NOT one of them. They didn't even get the word 'outstanding' right...which is not two words, but one. You could call this book the 'Veg-O-Matic' of Kindle Help offerings. All hype and zero substance. Don't waste your $1.49.
