The descriptions of the Austrailian outback were very good and reading about fighting the bush fire was quite exciting. The dialogue was entertaining, for the most part although the editing fell short of where it could have been. However, the biggest reason that I didn't give more than three stars is that I couldn't buy the basic plot in the story. You are given a photojournalist named Kate (or Katelyn, or Katie) who left her home 10 years before, upon the death of her mother in a plane crash. The pilot of the plane was Matt, who was the only survivor (his father also died in the crash) and he can't understand why Katie seems so distant and doesn't want to sell her and her brother Pete's homestead to him even though his offer is extremely generous. Finally, Katie tells Matt that for the past 10 years, she has hated him because she thinks that the crash was his fault. Matt is devastated and sets out to win Katie's trust. That was when the story lost my belief in the characters! Katie came across as a whiny, immature person and, as far as I am concerned, Matt would have to be a saint to be so forbearing. It also made his later reactions of scorn and derision even more unbelievable. Since the book is free and NOT part of a series, I would recommend that you give this book a chance if you don't have a sure-thing at hand.

This book was one of the silliest ones i have ever read..all though in all honesty I did not finish it..it was just awful from page one.
