The aircraft feared most by the Viet Cong,
By Charles Martin (Olla, LA. USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: OV-1 Mohawk in action - Aircraft No. 92 (Paperback)
I was an aircraft mechanic in the service. Worked on the Mohawk in VietNam. The aircraft was totally awesome. My pilot came back from a mission one day white as if he had just seen a ghost. When asked, he replied that he had just out maneuvered a surface to air missile. It was at this time that I realized how much I appreciated the opportunity given to me to have a part in the VietNam war. The OV-1 may have been phased out, but the memories I have of working on and maintaining the aircraft will stay with me for a lifetime.

This was a gift for my son-in-law and he totally enjoyed receiving it. These were the planes he worked on when he was in the Army Reserves and he says it is well worth reading. (He also was amazed that I found it, since he wasn't able to find much on this aircraft before.)
