Product Description

Editorial Review

Budding scientists (and Dr. Frankensteins) look no farther! The Moon Walker II lets you build a tiny robot that walks at your command, either from your voice instruction or changes you make in light intensity. It's called Moon Walker because its domed top and long, spindly, rolling legs make it look a like a small, roving moon explorer. This isn't a project for the meek or a beginner. The pieces are small and intricate, and the instructions aren't basic. It's definitely aimed at those looking for a challenge. But for challenge seekers, the Moon Walker II model kit will undoubtedly provide hours of intense, creative fun. --Courtney Hudak

3.0 out of 5 stars It's a blast to build..., January 29, 2010

This review is from: OWI Moon Walker II Kit (Toy)
I just finished building the Moon Walker II. I enjoyed every phase of the building. It walks well, although clumsily. I can't get it to respond to clapping or the light to come on. The explanation of where and how to set the orange dials that control that are very poor. As a toy to play with, it's not very entertaining. As a kit to build, it was a lot of fun. PS I am a 71-year-old grandma. No, I had no help with this. I plan to buy a more complicated one next.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: OWI Moon Walker II Kit (Toy)
Bought this for my youngest's fifth birthday, and she stayed up late assembling it *herself*. Ok, I read the directions to her, held stuff steady for her, and retightened some things when she wasn't looking, but still. Gears were a little off the first time, so we had to disassemble and reassemble a bit, but haven't had troubles since. She calls it 'StarWar' because it's like the robots in Star Wars.

We lost one part, a nut which was easily replaced with one I already had laying around, but they are *small*, so make sure you have a place to hold them and someone with small fingers to pick them up ;) Otherwise, great little kit for beginners, we will definitely be looking for more come Christmas!
