Will Have Fun.

The tiny screws and bolts require a pair of tweezers so you can screw them together and once you start moving the parts they come unscrewed.
Victoria N Titzer
Might want to bump the recommended age up a bit as parts were very small and much attention was needed to put together.

This kit is definitely not for the easily frustrated. I have a lot of mechanical experience and small, dexterous fingers, but had difficulty during certain steps of the assembly (I'm not an experienced modeler or kit builder). The instructions are fairly clear, with good illustrations and a logical work flow. There are NO spare fasteners, which is ridiculous considering how small and difficult to handle they are. All the model pieces are punched aluminum which have holes and slots to fit together. Most of them require gentle shaping to achieve the proper profile. Once complete, the kit looks nice, but is difficult to "rig" to achieve a stable, upright stance - it tips over with ease. The teeth are flimsy white paper stickers. Total assembly time, from opening the box to first tip-over, was 75 minutes. I cussed a lot, though my satisfaction level was very high after completing the kit without losing any parts or throwing the thing against the wall.

I ordered this for my 9 year old with some help of my husband to put it together. The nuts and bolts are VERY SMALL. About half way through my husband started to get frustrated as it became more difficult for his fingers to get the small nuts and bolts together and gave up altogheter on the legs. I finished the job, but it took me several tries to get those tiny nuts to stay just right on the bolt to carefully get it started to screw on....unfortunately the final product did not last long and soon pieces started to fall off. My husbands response: Don't ever buy something like this again.

I assembled the kit without too much trouble. There are no extra nuts or bolts so it is critical to make this kit over a table or in an area where if you drop something small (like the nut) you can find it again. The bolts are not clearly define and I would recommend sorting the bolts before you start. Some of the spots are tight to get your fingers into and can be tricky. Overall was fun and kept me busy for awhile, excellent step up if you enjoy LEGO or other assembly kits

I bought this because my 7 year old son always wants to build things. This is a great purchase to do with a kid of that age. The scorpion is easier. The T-Rex is more difficult to build, which may be a good or bad thing depending if you want a short or long project to do with your kids. Both are great and I give 5 stars to each.

My 12 year old nephew liked this, but it is not something he would have probably been able to assemble himself. After a few hours of cursing this thing out, we finally succeeded in assembling the final product. The problem is, that the nuts and bolts are so tiny, there is no way to securely fasten them. When he picks up the dinosaur, sometimes a nut will fall off, and let me tell you, it is not easy to put back on! Overall it was a cool dinosaur for him and something different than the typical toys.

Buy this! It might be hard for small kids to do this but with some help it can be done. And they look wicked awesome when they are done. I've bought 4 of these models (scorpion, few other Dino's) and they are all great. Good quality too for the price but I wouldn't recommend them for rough play. The edges are a tad sharpe and the parts are very small! Chocking hazard small. My 29 year old husband loved them!

The kit itself is great. The nuts are absolutely small, I had to use twizzers to place all the nuts then screw it on. Directions r easy to follow. Final outcome "take breaks, and you will like the final result"

Bought this and 2 others for my son's 15th birthday. He loves to build things and this didn't disappoint. Based on other reviews, I told him we should put a weight in the tail so it wouldn't topple forward. He decided not to and his stands on it's own with no problem. It took him about 2 hours to assemble and he loved every minute.
