Incredibly easy to measure liquids,
By Debbie Lee Wesselmann (the Lehigh Valley, PA) - See all my reviews (TOP 50 REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE) (2008 HOLIDAY TEAM) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: OXO Good Grips Angled Measuring Cup, Set of 3 (Kitchen)
This measuring cup set is simple in design, so much so that I wonder why no one had thought of it earlier. Cooks no longer have to stoop down to check the level of liquid. The biggest drawback with these cups is the plastic construction. After using Pyrex measuring cups for years, I have come to expect durability, even in the microwave; while these can be used to measure boiling water, they cannot be used in the microwave to heat liquids. They do not replace hardier measuring cups. Still, they make a useful addition to the kitchen.
If you are short on storage space, don't bother with these since you will have to keep your old cups anyway. However, if you do have room, I strongly recommend adding these to your traditional measuring cups for their ease of use and accuracy.

Nice design, faulty manufacture,

I'm normally a fan of OXO products and own many of their gadgets. These measuring cups are the first problem product I've had from OXO...both the 2 cup and 4 cup sizes cracked on the bottom of the cup, right at the plastic injection point (that little circle with the tiny bump in the center of it), and they both now leak at the crack. These cracks developed very soon after I bought them, and I only ever washed them in on the top rack of the dishwasher. Because of the design of the cups, it's kinda annoying to wash them by hand - and they're not great for measuring dry ingredients for the same reason. So mine have gone into the garbage can, replaced by the KitchenAid cups of similar appearance (although without the handy interior measuring marks). My advice, keep your receipt if you buy these. Or skip them and get the KitchenAid, which have a non-slip rubber ring on the bottom, another nice feature. And they won't crack in the dishwasher.

Great idea - needs a little better execution in design.,
This review is from: OXO Good Grips Angled Measuring Cup, Set of 3 (Kitchen)
I really love OXO equipment and I've tried to replace most of my older kitchen gear with much of their stuff. These measuring cups are really nice. The vertical-read measure marks are both easy and much more natural than holding a gallon jug of milk above your head while you keep your eyes at counter level! I'm really surprised this hasn't been copied since this style has been out for a long time. The plastic is solid, and I've used boiling water in them without cracking. They have also been through the dishwasher with no noticeable changes.
The handle is comfortable and keeps your hands from getting burned. The plastic is light enough that they aren't difficult to handle like some of my 4cup Pyrex ones. About the only drawbacks are that they don't stack the best and mixing in them isn't the easiest because of the design. You *can* stack the smaller size in the larger by rotating it a bit off axis of the one underneath so their handles don't match up. But doing that with same size ones isn't as easy. They do stack, but It's not the best. I give it a 4.5 on functionality and quality, saving the extra .5 because I think they can get them to stack better. I'm rounding up in this case because they are really nice. They are expensive, but I don't mind paying for quality when it's deserved.
