I couldn't believe it. It said the garlic would fall out peeled and the peels would stay inside...and it did! I put 2 relatively large cloves in the tube, rolled it a bit looked at it and it looked like a mess in there - I tipped it up and out dropped the two completely peeled cloves and the peel stayed inside! How about that! I love garlic, peeling a lot of garlic gets kind of sticky. This is going to be awesome. The silicone did not want to release all the peel when rinsed - so I used my spray head for a sec and they all came out. I'm so happy! Woo hoo!

I ran across this in a retail store. Being an Oxo fan I bought one. It is so simple I can't believe I never heard of it before. You can peel 3 or 4 cloves in about 2 seconds (I'm not exagerating). I love garlic, but it appears that I'll be using it even more. I also bought the Oxo garlic press.

amazing,

it was troublesome to start with but once you get the hang of it,it eases the chore of peeling.to get the best out of this peeler: 1.make sure both peeler n garlic are dry. 2. insert same size garlics n only 2 at a time. 3. don't press too hard or u'll end up squeezing the juice out n wet the peeler. 4. found out garlics left out of fridge for a week peel easier

Simplicity can be amazing,

When I first used this item I could not believe it. It works great. I wonder how many people using this peeler wish they could have thought up this thing. No broken nails trying to peel clove after clove; no smell on your fingers; and cloves are peeled quickly and easily.

This is the simplest, but one of the best kitchen must haves I have purchased in a long time. The peel is whisked of the garlic in seconds. Easy to clean, easy to store. No more garlic hands!

I recently received this and tried it following the directions that came with it. I discovered that this garlic peeler is a bit of a challenge, especially if the garlic clove is larger than expected. I had some struggle getting the garlic clove in and then getting it out. Rinsing it out took longer than I expected in trying to get the "paper" out as it stayed stuck inside. From the look of things, I will have to continue practicing with it. One other thing to consider...if you have any chronic difficulty with your hands, i.e. tendinitis, arthritis, or any condition causing pain in your hands, using this product can be complicated.

I have always hated peeling garlic, but no more! Now I have to stop myself from peeling more garlic than I need. It is so fun to do. I have found that it does not work well on fresh garlic from the farmer's market. The outer peel still retains too much moisture to come off easily. But for the other nine months of the year when I have to use supermarket garlic, this item will be used almost every day in my kitchen. Pop the garlic in, roll it around a few times, and after removing the clove simply rinse the dried peel out. Love it! Gets my vote for best kitchen gadget I have bought this year.

Simple but good garlic press,

This is a very simple garlic press for the kitchen. Simple take a few pieces, insert, press, and roll. In a few seconds, but have peeled garlic. This press is only for SMALL pieces at a time. Nevertheless, it is worth it if you hate peeling every little piece of garlic skin by hand.

Works as advertised, but there is no perfect tool for this,

I will confess that I didn't buy this at Amazon, but I've had one for a few years and use about every time I need Garlic. It works simply and easily, just put the cloves in and roll around without applying too much pressure. The cloves come out and the peels stay in. If you only have to do a few cloves it works great. Run some water through the cylinder when you're done to rinse out the peels. If you need to do more, you'll end up with a lot of peels in the cylinder and it will not do a great job peeling the later cloves. If you rinse out the cylinder, then it's wet and will not do a good job of peeling the later cloves. I've had to rinse out the cylinder and shake the unit to get every bit of water out before using it to peel more cloves. Fortunately, the unit is silicone and water doesn't stick to it very well. Someone commented on having to trim the ends of the garlic. I always trim the top part of the clove and never use it it my cooking anyway. I don't find I have to trim it before using this tool and will usually trim the top off after peeling. All this being said, I'm not sure there is a perfect tool for doing this. I've used the competitors and they work about as well and are probably harder to dry after rinsing out.

Actually I like this product, but it only works for the first few garlic cloves. You can peel 1-3 garlic cloves pretty well at first. When the garlic peel starts to stick and accumulate inside the peeler, it doesn't work well anymore. You need to clean it, wash it and dry it. It is really good for those who just need one or two garlic cloves, but not good for those who want a lot.
