Holy Good Grips, Batman!,

This review is from: OXO Good Grips Waiter's Corkscrew (Kitchen)
I almost purchased a metal waiter's corkscrew but am glad I waited to get this one. The large, rubberize handle is easier to hang on to and is much more comfortable to hold in your hand. The bottle opener and corkscrew are easy to pull open and to close -- they do not "snap" shut the way knife blades can. I like that the foil cutter is not a blade that is pulled open to stick way out from the handle but is a tiny blade protected by hard plastic that juts out just far enough to cut the foil from a bottle neck. I'm not a huge wine connoisseur but I believe this corkscrew does the job while being easy to use.

I am a bartender and I work with this OXO for 3 month now. You dont want to know how many times i stung myself with this needle - eh - cork screw. Band-aid became my second best friend.
I partly agree to previous comments: I miss a small knife instead of the foil cutter. Although the cutter itself works okay, unless you need to open waxed bottle tops I like the feel and sturdyness, but this is not a professional tool designed by professionals. I will buy something else today.

Good Grip - Too Short on Business End,
By ph "brighthue" (MA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: OXO Good Grips Waiter's Corkscrew (Kitchen)
I've broken a few corks with this tool, as the "worm" doesn't reach the bottom of some corks. Other foil cutters are easier to use. Like most OXO tools, this one feels comnfortable and steady in the hand. If you're opening an older bottle or one that has a particularly long cork, use another corkscrew.
