Suitable for enhancing everything from poultry to pork to seafood, the four dried flavorings in this set--dill, tarragon, white peppercorns, and citrus peel--bless food with their full aromas when they're ground by the set's cleverly designed grinder. The ceramic grinder is tough, durable, and won't corrode. It adjusts from coarse to fine with the twist of a knob, and its soft housing cushions the hand. Simply remove the cap, snap the grinder onto the jar, point the grinder down and twist. Flavoring falls either directly onto food or into the cap, which is calibrated to 1/8-, 1/4-, and 1/2-teaspoon measurements. Because the four flavorings have a natural affinity they can share the same grinder. (The 3-1/2-inch-high jars can be filled with any herb or spice, and the grinder will handle them with ease.) Like a lot of people, I've spent a lot of time and money trying to find a spice grinder that meets a new simple criteria for quuality. Here's what the OXO grinders do well:1) Grind whole spices. It seems simple, but a lot of expensive grinders do a terrible job of grinding. They might look good on the table or in the kitchen, but who cares if you're getting chunks of unground pepper in your salad? 2) Clean up. I use my OXO grinders in the kitchen for cooking. They get dirty and one of my pet peeves with most grinders is that it's impossible to keep them clean. OXO did a marvelous job making sure they used materials and a design that actually promoted cleaning. 3) Adjust fineness quickly and easily. Without question, these grinders have the smartest adjustment I've ever used. And the mechanism is ceramic, so it will not wear out like plastic or some soft metals. 4) Good looks. Frankly, I bought my first set of OXO grinders because they looked cooler than anything else on the shelf. Is that important? Well, yes. I now have a collection of about 25 of these grinders in full view in my kitchen and it is a source of pride that I have such a great looking grinder set. 5) Reasonable price. When you consider the high quality of the spices included with OXO grinders, they're an absolute bargain for the price. I wouldn't hesitate to buy these, because they (not the spices) will last for a good, long time and you'll get many times' your investment out of them in pure enjoyment and aesthetic value. OXO grinders are superb and deserve all the good press they're getting. I highly recommend them!

I've been using the sea salt grinder for about 2 years now and love it. I received this in one of my Gold Box offers and was ready to buy for $25.49. Don't buy these here- go to oxo.com- only $15.00. Their shipping is $4.95+ but still cheaper than Amazon's price.

One clever spice grinder works with interchangeable spice jars. A ceramic precision grinder produces fresh spices. This grinder has a little cap that measures what you grind and then after use seals the grinder from moisture, kitchen odors, etc.Like everything else designed by OXO the design is an improvement on existing kitchen tools. I priced the spices in my grocery store and found that this set is comparable to buying the spices without the grinder. So it's a bonus to have all the spices and the grinder in one package.
