This is a clever, well designed measuring cup, but since it is made of plastic, do NOT use it with fats (oils, creams, yolks, etc.). Any substance that includes fat will chemically attract to the plastic in the measuring cup (and vice versa), making it VERY difficult to get completely clean.

While I prefer this design to my trusty Pyrex glass measuring container, I don't like to have to think twice about using it with some ingedients. If they ever make a glass version of this cup, I'll buy two!

I have not been able to use a regular glass measuring cup since my stroke five years ago. I cannot measure accurately for two reasons. One is that my hand sometimes shakes making it impossible for the liquid to "settle." The second is that my eyes don't work as well as they used to. I have been forced to use dry measurers, which are not exactly the same in measurment and which are also difficult because of the shaking. With this measuring cup all those are past problems. I can easily measure liquid ingredients accurately. I would highly recommend.

In regard to the reviewer(s) who didn't appreciate the fact that this item is made of plastic, I'd like to mention that the reason I purchased this measuring cup was because my Pyrex glass one met an untimely death when it slipped into my cast-iron sink. True, it has its drawbacks when measuring oily or very hot liquids, but I'd recommend having a second, glass one for such and purchasing this innovatively designed measuring cup for the majority of your cooking needs. I've been very pleased with all the OXO Good Grip products I've purchased; This one is no exception.

I have easily had this measuring cup for 4-5 years, and it gets very frequent use in my household!

The measurements are easy to read either from the top or from the side.

Another added benefit is that the handle is perfect for hanging; we have a crock full of our spatulas and other kitchen tools; this handle slips right into the crock and allows the measuring cup to hang off the edge for easy access.

Washes up very well in the dishwasher; I was concerned that the letters would wear off with use but so far they are all clear!

Would definitely recommend to a friend or buy as a housewarming gift!

Although the illustration shows milliliter measurements on the inside of the cup, they are on the outside only, defeating the purpose of the angled measuring cup.

My wife fussed with me for ordering this angled measuring cup since it was different; you look down in the cup for your measurment instead of on the side. But after she used it the first time it is a big hit and that's all she uses now. You also have the option to check your measurement from the side too.

Compared to conventional measuring cups with indications on the side, this cup saves you the hassle of bending over to see if you poured enough (or too much). The top view measurements are easy to read. It's made out of plastic, so it's microwave and dishwasher safe; however, I wonder if the plastic will resist absorbing strong flavors.

I loved this cup; so easy to see the measuring from above. But less than one year later, the bottom has cracked around the nubbin in the center. Now it leaks. Now it's garbage. I can't support something like this that won't last.

Got a lot of these and am not sorry I bought them. The older we get, the more help we need in the kitchen...these are huge help.

Such a simple design change and suddenly it is soooo much easier to be more exact in your measuring on the first try. I also have a 4 cup angled measuring cup as well....and again it makes measuring so much easier.
