And everything changed.
Okay, the sky didn't turn plaid. The space time continum didn't unravel. Instead, I went from an awkward system of filling shotglasses up to the top of the logo and adding in a teaspoon and a half, to a quick, simple system of just measuring the exact amount I needed without thinking about it.
The angled measuring cup is just brilliant. I had no idea how useful it would be until I used it. Trust me on this one. It'll change the way you cook - for the better.
I've found these sturdy plastic cups are top rack dishwasher safe as well as occasionally microwave safe. The quantities are clearly labeled and easy to read. The moulded front pour results in no spills or dribbles.
Basically, if you're looking for a way to measure fairly precise quantities under 4 ounces, I can't recommend the Oxo Measuring Cup highly enough. Try one - it's cheap - and just see if you don't replace all your measuring cups with Oxo.
I used this measuring cup less than a dozen times to measure everyday food ingredients and even hand washed it.
For no apparent reason it became partially opaque.
I'll stick with glass or metal from now on.
On a side note, even with free prime shipping, I am seeing these in the $9 - $10 range. You can get them way cheaper in a grocery store or a kitchen supply store.
I do make some home products - from linen sprays and my own cologne to skin care products. I was having too many reactions to weird ingredients and, in a push to be more self-sufficent and natural, I started looking up how to do this stuff at home. These cups are invaluable to me, because most of the items are measured in these smaller amounts and having a pour spout allows me to easily transfer things into bottles and small containers.
So, good item, but the price seems high on Amazon. Mine were around $5

I use this every day and LOVE it. So much easier than measuring up to 4 tablespoons full of olive oil or (for me, every morning) two of half and half in my coffee. :)Published 24 days ago by Rebecca Reagan
