5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great!
This napkin holder really does let you pull out just one napkin, even if it is down to the last few. In fact I find it lets me pull out five at a time leaving the others still in the holder. For an upright napkin holder it is ideal.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great design -- But what's up with the unremovable label?
The design of this product is great, and I'd really like to start using my napkin holder, but I have not been able to remove the adhesive from the large (4" x 3.5") labels that are on either side of the holder. One of the other reviewers had this same problem -- but her label was only on one side, my labels are on both -- did you ever figure it out? I've tried...

4.0 out of 5 stars Well Done!, August 30, 2007

An effective way to keep a supply of napkins standing tall. The pressure from the sides squeezes the supply gently but effectively, allowing a smaller amount of napkins to be held in place neatly. It's easy to pull out one napking at a time and it's tall enough to prevent the supply from drooping over. The only problem I had was with the manufacturer's sticker which was VERY difficult to completely remove and if one is not careful, it would be easy to mar the brushed (satin) finish.

I've tried everything I could think of... Goo Gone, stainless steel cleaner, soaking in hot water. Nothing is removing the remnants of the label. I bought my napkin holder from Amazon a couple weeks ago and I may have to toss it out and get a different product if I cannot get it clean. (I'll update if I ever figure this out. Please post suggestions if you have any.)

Perfect solution to an age old problem. All other holders either allowed the napkins to fall in a heap unless full or held the napkins too tight causing several to come out each time. This one solves both problems. The only thing that kept me from giving it five stars was the darn product label. Have tried 3 different kinds of solvent to remove the glue to no avail. OXO use a different glue on your stainless steel products.

I have been in need of a napkin holder for a while but refused to buy a mediocre one. It took a while for me to find this but I love it! The OXO napkin holder looks good and works really well. It pinches the napkins together so that you can easily pull just one napkin out at a time. Of course if you want to pull out 3 napkins it'll pull out precisely 3 napkins, nothing more, nothing less. The only small complaint I have about this is the base of the holder doesn't have a rubber or silicone grip which I think would be nice on tile or granite surfaces. Other than that, I like this napkin holder a lot, it works really well like all the other OXO products.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice looking but sticker a bear to get off, September 13, 2007

On one side, this looks like a lovely napkin holder. The shape is very nice and it holds the napkins in very well, yet they are easy to remove. I love the design. My big gripe is about the giant product sticker they put on the other side. It took a long time to get the sticker off, and I still couldn't get all of the residue cleared from the napkin holder. There are a few small scratches now from trying to dig off the sticker. I'll try some Goo-Gone and update this review if it completely clears the gunk away.

4.0 out of 5 stars Serves one at a time as promised, September 11, 2007

The design of this item is very, very clever. Indeed, it dispenses only one (or more, if you grab them) napkins at a time. It's stainless steel, however, which means difficulties keeping little fingerprints off. If this were made of something coated, it would be just perfect. As it is, it is a great gift for someone and I don't know how we lived without it.

I have many products made by OXO and they are the best quality around. This napkin holder fits the decor of the kitchen and works very well. If you want one napkin that's all that comes out, if you want three or four then that's what you get. I'm pleased with it.

4.0 out of 5 stars label problem solved, July 23, 2010

I was hoping that Oxo had solved the problem of the label residue that others had commented about but they hadn't. My wife came up with the solution. Use nail polish remover to get adhesive off and then use BarKeepers Friend to clean it to look like it should.
