OXO Good Grips Brushed Stainless Steel Turner

I was tired of nylon and other plastic spatulas and turners. Most of them have a thick edge and are not sufficiently stiff to really scrape something out of a pan. Using a cheap plastic turner to flip hash brown potatoes in my cast iron pan resulted in a melted edge on the turner and bits of potato still stuck to the pan.

This stainless steel turner is the answer to that problem. It is stiff and heavy duty enough to handle pretty much any turning duty in my kitchen. If you need a flexible turner, this is not it. It has a non-slip material inserted at the holding end of the handle that makes it comfortable to hold. However, if you need to "choke up" on the grip and hold it closer to the turner you will be holding the edges of the turned over steel, which is not very comfortable. Being stainless steel, I don't have to worry about leaving it leaning on the side of my cookware and having it melt. The handle is a good length - long enough to keep your hand away from the cooking surface but no so long as to make using it awkward. I used it to get the cookies off my cookie sheets and it worked okay for that, even if the edge could be just a little bit thinner to get under the cookies.

If you are looking for a stainless steel turner, this is a good one.

I've owned it for two years now (Jan-07 to Jan-09). It's still intact, no chips bends or breaks. Great investment.

These OXO stainless tools are the best. Solid, well build, includes a hole to hang them. Unlike the Kitchen Aid which tip out of the pan due to their imbalanced weight characteristics, the OXOs are well balanced. It's slightly heavy which I like. Doesn't scratch very easily and washes nicely. This is my line of choice.

I'm simply thrilled with this turner. It is gorgeous (I display it, when not using it, in my Calphalon stainless steel utensil crock), and the best quality turner I've ever owned. The brushing of the steel will help to make any scratching that occurs from usage less noticeable than if it were polished steel, but so far I haven't had a single scratch appear during usage! It is solid and durable-feeling without weighing a lot, VERY comfortable to hold and use, and thin enough to be able to easily get under anything you need to turn or scrape. I mainly use it with my Corning Ware or glass bakeware that gets too hot from oven use to use nylon utensils. I LOVE this turner! WELL WORTH the money spent!

Okay, not exactly, but it did change the results of our cooking. As far as stainless steel turners go, I think this is the very best. We used to have Calphalon kitchen gadgets to match our Calphalon cookware, but they wore down and became unusable after just a couple of years. We decided to replace them all with OXO and could not be more satisfied.

The brushed stainless steel turner is attractive and functional. It feels well balanced and the slotted head flexes just enough to get under pancakes and eggs. Our old turner just turned eggs and pancakes into a mushy mess when trying to flip them but the OXO does a fantastic job. The non-slip grip on the underside of the handle works very well for keeping the turner in your hands and the whole turner is easy to clean (even safe in the dishwasher).

A lifetime warranty rounds out the features of this great stainless steel turner by OXO. I have dealt with their warranty department in the past and have had great experiences with them. Do not hesitate to purchase this OXO turner. I highly recommend it.

This is really nice. It also is perfect for fliping and turning and chopping in the pan. With the back made the way it is you can easily put your forefinger near the head and get pressure when your breaking up meat and stuff.

I use this on everything from pancakes, veggies, pizza, cookies, steaks, anything that needs to be turned or handled somehow I use it with this turner. I've recently discovered Oxo products and its understandable why they're so popular. They seem well made, attractive, they work well, they're easy to clean.

I sautee in stainless steel pots and pans and this proves to be just what the chef ordered. This is sturdy, yet light weight. I recommend it.

A well made solid feeling turner but it is quite large. That's a plus for turning pancakes or omelets etc and I have no problem having a large turner but I just didn't expect something quite this large. It's worth the money I paid though, and it looks great as well as seems very strong and well made. I recommend it.
