5.0 out of 5 stars A new staple, but smaller size better
I bought one of these on a lark a while back (at BB&B I think). Turned out to be an excellent purchase! Mine's the smaller size, however, 11" x 3.25", which I think is better. It's ergonomic with a comfortable handle, good angle between handle & blade, not heavy. The blade is thin and flexible yet not weak or floppy. The corners are rounded just right to fit into pan...

2.0 out of 5 stars There is such a thing as too flexible
I typically love OXO products, but I found this turner to be just too flexible. I found it could not bear up under much weight at all, and bent too much. I suppose this could be an asset in some circumstances, but I have struggled to find them. Just not a useful item for me.

It's ergonomic with a comfortable handle, good angle between handle & blade, not heavy. The blade is thin and flexible yet not weak or floppy. The corners are rounded just right to fit into pan corners. Unlike some utensils on the market, the handle is NOT too thick/bulky (so it doesn't hog all the space in the utensil jar or dishwasher rack). I've also found it's PERFECT for cutting/serving cake & brownies from a nonstick cakepan.

5.0 out of 5 stars thin, yet stable, March 28, 2005

This is the ideal turner for a non-stick pan. It is thin enough to slide easily under eggs or cookies, yet stiff enough not to bend under the weight of a thick burger. The handle is comfortable and it cleans easily. I'm tossing the old traditionally shaped nylon pancake turners!

5.0 out of 5 stars OXO Good Grips Large Nylon Flexible Turner, October 5, 2004
Just what I needed for my new non-stick griddle. Just the right size for omelets, supersized pancakes and supersized hamburgers.

4.0 out of 5 stars Flexibility, June 22, 2007

OXO make excellent products. I purchased an OXO Good Grips Large Nylon Flexible Turner and am pleased with the flexibility. You are able to really get under what you are trying to turn.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great fo non-stick pans, January 4, 2007

This turner worked great for non-stick pans. Most of these are real thick plastic, and you can't get them under the food like a metal turner. Then the food just gets pushed around the pan. The edge of this turner is so thin, it gets under food much better than any other non-stick turner. This model seems to be a lot stiffer than their other narrower models. The extra width seems to make it stiffer. It still bends some if the food is fairly heavy, however. But for flipping burgers, and even a little bigger things, it works just fine. One thing however, the black surface looks non-stick, but some things still stick to it a little, especially at the front edge when it pushes or drags under stuff, but it still cleans off easily.

1.0 out of 5 stars Melted..., June 20, 2011

After the very first time I used this spatula, I noticed that the edge started to melt. I only used it to make eggs!!! Maybe I held the tip on the pan for too long? Unlikely...very sad. I continue to use the product and noticed that little white spots had appear toward the edge. It's also flimsy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Nylon Turner, April 9, 2010

I love it. It's large enough and flexible to lift and flip whatever I may be cooking. Plus it protects my pans from scratches.

1.0 out of 5 stars It doesn't cut it, February 13, 2009

The small one is much better, this big one is too floppy to be of much use. I tried it even on pancakes and it didn't have the firmness to slip under and dislodge what parts were sticking to the pan, which another, sturdier turner handled very well. The small one is better although after only one month's use, it began fraying at the tip. Why they do this I don't know. I'm still looking for a good turner that is strong, thin and doesn't fray at the end after very little use. It used to be that one could use a turner for years before signs of fraying.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst one I have Used to date, April 16, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: OXO Good Grips Large Nylon Flexible Turner, Black (Kitchen)
This thing is a disappointment. It is too thin to flip anything with a bit of mass to it. The nylon bends immediately from sitting in a drawer and holds that position. I have tried probably 10 flippers over the last little while and for me, this is the worst. I used to like the Calphalon turners but the edge of the one's I ordered recently have shown splitting very quickly. Ironically, my favorite is the Henkel's silicon spatula and I can't really explain why ... it's too thick, food doesn't slide as easy as I would like, but it's the one I keep going for. As for this one, tried it one final time and tossed it in the garbage. I'm sure these things are meant for many different applications and may will be happy with it, I'm just one unsatisfied customer.
