Great Travel Mug,

July 11, 2006: Impressive travel mug, no dribbles and it seals tight. Click the drinking spout closed and you can turn it on its side or even upside down, sealing in the fluid perfectly. Good insulating properties too. If you're not careful you could pay twice as much for one of these mugs. Amazon has the best deal with its free shipping if the color green suits you well enough.Update as of 12/29/06: The "clicker" open/close valve that controls the flow of the liquid has stuck in the open position. I just sent an email to OXO detailing the problem and now await their reply and solution. Will post the outcome here on Amazon. Update as of 1/13/07: After two emails and a phone call I was able to get a replacement shipped to me free of charge. The new travel mug works great and only time will tell if it lasts longer than 6-months. Now I see other colors are being sold at the same price. As a tip, for those that find the mug doesn't keep their beverage warm long enough, I would advise "priming" your mug. You do this by filling it with hot water first, letting it sit for a minute or two before spilling out the water, then refill with your hot beverage. This could be done with ice water for cold beverages too. Hope this helps.

useful but too small,

this mug is awesome. When sealed I can just toss it to the passenger seat, let it roll around and it doesn't leak anything. Also nice to carry around because I can put it in my jacket and not have to worry about leaking.I bought the brush aluminium one, my Dad saw and like it. I gave it to him. I replace it with this green one. They're both good. So I think this is a better value. The only downside, and hence the 4 stars, it is too small. 14oz is not enough for even a short trip.

This mug keeps my tea piping hot for approximately 4 hours. It is virtually spill-proof. It has tipped over in my handbag, briefcase, totebag, lunch bag and rolled around in my car and not an ounce of liquid has leaked from it. It's easy to care for...I handwash it every evening after each use and by the next morning it's ready to be used again. I love this mug so much, I bought two more to give away to my two special friends as gifts.

Very Portable But Don't Retain Heat Well,
This review is from: OXO Good Grips Green Plastic LiquiSeal Travel Mug (Kitchen)
As S. Farrell notes, these don't keep your beverage hot for a long while. For instance, I pour boiling coffee in my mug around 8:30, and by 10 I can fully drink out of it. By 12, the drink is merely warm. This isn't bad, really, as I don't want a container that will keep my coffee boiling until next morning--I do intend to drink out of it fairly soon, after all. Still, I would prefer it kept the coffee hot a little longer. The mug is definitely spill-proof though. No amount of shaking will make even a drop come out from around the edges. The button, however, allows some drink to be trapped within the black top, if you close it as soon as you take a drink. From there, it will spill out if turned upside-down. This isn't a design fault, really, but should be kept in mind nonetheless. Give it a couple of seconds before you press the button after taking a drink. Lastly, even with boiling water inside, the outer wall never gets too hot to be carried around with a bare hand, although it does get quite warm. In all, it's a good container if you want to have a coffee a couple hours after you wake up, but can't when you're in your own house. Don't expect a thermos, though.

Absolutely No Complaints,

I have only been using this mug for a day and I already love it! It works as advertised, you click a button and it seals completely. You can turn it completely over. I took it, full of tea, to two classes today. I simply filled it up, screwed on the cap, clicked the button, and threw it in my bookbag. Not a drop spilled out. It's stylish. I love the green and black. It isn't too bright and showy, but it isn't a boring design. Also, the price is right! This mug was very affordable. I'm a student and can't really spend a lot on anything but the bare necessities. So I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of this product based on its price. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I bought 5 of these for my dad for Christmas because he won't let anyone take drinks in his fancy cars.. he actually let's us take these in there after demonstrating shaking it upside down with coffee in it and not a drop leaked! They are worth it and besides you can't beat the price in a local retail store where you will pay about $20 for a regular nice travel mug.

Great travel mug but does not keep beverages hot for long...,

This is a great travel mug! The design is sleek and attractive and it really is spill proof. Just click the button on the lid to open it, sip away, then click it again to seal it. Turn it upside down, shake it - it won't leak. (Leaks only occur if you take a sip then quickly click the button to seal it. This causes a small amount of liquid to be caught in the lid which can leak out.)Clean up is easy and the size accommodates this particular java junkie who requires a large cup of coffee in the morning. My only complaint is that it does not keep my coffee hot for a long time. It's good for about 30 minutes to an hour before the coffee becomes luke warm. I just rewarm my coffee when I get to work. Still worth the purchase as the pros outweigh the cons.

This cup is an OK travel mug but not one of the best I have had. It doesn't keep liquids warm for any length of time and it leaks. The biggest problem I have with it is because the way it is designed, the lid is hard to get completely dry. I just about threw up when I had washed, put it in the cabinet for about 2 weeks, went to take a sip and the first thing that came out was old dish water that tasted and smelled funny. Ew! They need a better design for the lid.

Good, but not hot enough,

I really like the design of this mug, and it does not leak. However, I've been using it for about 8 months now and I'm starting to notice that it does not keep my coffee hot enough. At least it doesn't live up to the 3 hours that it promises -- my coffee was room temperature after only 2.
