Not only is this a sleek and pleasing design, it is really a good plunger. The handle is not hard on your hands like the wooden ones of the cheaper plungers either.

I had a very bad toilet clog that just would not go away. At the end of the day, I suspect it was a lot of bulked up toilet paper that a snake just couldn't get undone.

After reducing down most of the liquid in the bowl by hand using a large hard plastic drinking glass, I added some Joy liquid dishwashing fluid back into the bowl based on a tip I found on the web.

Using this Oxo plunger with moderate effort, I was able to finally unclog my toilet.

this is the best plunger to have. It sits in the canister which covers the rubber plunger part. when you pull the handle up the sides of the canister open. Because its contained in the canister you can actually store this in the bathroom.

This is solid, well designed and gets the job the done.

The picture and description online left me wondering. I was suspicious the design was more for aesthetics than quality. However, the plastic is harder than it looks, and the rubber design creates a good seal. A high quality product that will work if ever needed.

This is another great OXO product. I, unfortunately, have plenty of experience unclogging toilets. This plunger creates a better seal than any other I have owned (and there's been plenty). It also releases the clog with far less effort than the others. The plastic handle is easy to clean (better than wood which aborbs fluid) and the canister holds it nicely and protects the floors. LOVE IT!!

This set is awesome! I was sick over having a toilet plunger sitting next to the toilet (hate the toilet and its not old "at all", but is a water saver [whatever]). Anyway, I have to keep a plunger right next to this crappie toilet because it stops-up 99% of the time. Looking at the plunger in plastic bags (and my cat kept licking the bags [ugh]) was disgusting. And, the old plunger was a back-breaking workout even though it was relatively new.

I spotted this set on Amazon, read the reviews and thought "what the heck, I'll try it." Well, its worth every single penny. I've used it everyday! The plunger and storage canister works like a charm!

Maybe one day I'll replace the crappie toilet, but until then, I've got this great gadget set that looks just fine sitting on the floor next to the culprit (and my cat doesn't want to lick it).

We have a newer house with low-flow toilets which means that we have to plunge them constantly. I liked the idea of having a plunger that could be at least somewhat less unsightly when left out in the bathroom, so I ordered this. I decided to just order one and see how well we liked it before buying one for each bathroom.

Size-wise its pretty good, not too big so it isn't too huge sitting in the corner. The canister hides it well and the handle is nicely shaped. They work well enough for our toilets, at least as well as our old plunger, but our toilets have an oval shaped opening at the bottom so no plunger can get a good seal on them anyway.

The smell - As others have said, yes the plunger does smell - really bad when you first take it out. However we have had it for 2 months now, the smell has faded - not completely - if you take out the plunger and take a good whiff (who does that?!?) the rubber part still stinks. However, when the plunger is put away the smell does not linger in the bathroom, so its not a long term problem. I'm taking a star off for that, nothing should reek like that when you take it out of the package!

The canister works quite well, I love that all you do is pull up on the plunger and it opens automatically and when you place the plunger back it closes. It also gives the plunger room to air dry.

We are happy enough to order more for each bathroom (we are tired of having to search the house for one!)

This is a good product and certainly does the job...as do most other plungers. :-) However, I do really like the canister feature as it promotes a more sanitary storage environment (which is the reason I gave it 4 stars). I don't think it's quite worth the price, but I'm relatively satisfied with the item.

This plunger is very hygienic because it has a white canister that automatically opens and closes. The plunger is kept hidden so you can store it in the bathroom. One tip though: when plunging, we cover the plunger with a plastic. That way, all the toilet gunk does not get on the plunger itself.

Great design! Toilet plungers should not be seen, only used. OXO did a great job of disguising this utilitarian contraption into a slick looking piece of modern aesthetics.

I'm a real germaphobe, especially when it comes to something that goes into the toilet in the worst times. The automatically hiding mechanism is a beautiful idea, very worthy of the increased price tag from traditional plungers. The plunger works very well, too.
