I received my Good Grips Paper-Towel Holder about two weeks ago. Initially, I noticed the improved appearance from my old marble holder. I was quite tired of searching for the end of the roll and using having to use both hands. They were usually covered with unspeakable kitchen muck and I was sure I'd have holder and all fall into the sink or floor. Enter the Oxo Good Grips...Hooray! I can quickly get my paper towel using one hand and not worry about logistics. I pull, it tears off and doesn't teeter from it's firm base. The gripping arm has adjusted fine through the first two rolls (both large sized). I'm pleased - it works as advertised and looks classy. I couldn't ask for more.

This paper towel holder is excellent. It looks great, works well and can be put out of sight for a picture perfect kitchen, mudroom or bathroom appearance. I bought three. Super.

This paper towel holder is nearly unusable.

I'll be fair, and state that we only tried it with one brand (Viva), but with that brand it was little more than an semi-attractive paperweight that happened to hold a roll of paper towels immobile.

The towel roll fitted so tightly on the cylinder, it would not move when you pull the loose end. That, coupled with the fact that it is not heavy enough to offer any resistance to the action of pulling the loose end led us to have to grip the top of the entire roll and manually turn the roll in order to get a fresh towel. And once you add in the resistance of the spring arm, wiping up a spill becomes an exercise in constant frustration.

So do yourself a favor. Before you buy this product, find a brick-and-mortar store that sells this particular holder and try it out with your preferred brand of paper towels. I don't hold any hope that you will have better luck than I, but at least you'll know what you're getting yourself into.

It is not as shiny as it looks in the picture. It is brushed stainless which makes it better because it does not stain by touching. i like it very much. I think it is a bit expensive though, but i am happy with my purchase. Heavy and durable.

I have tried all to many of these over the years and to be honest I never really cared much for any of them. Then, a few months back, I ran across this model in Kohls and I was immediately impressed. When you pick it up you can feel that this is a quality piece. It has a great weight so you don't have to worry about it sliding across the counter when you grab some paper towels. The pressure sensitive lever is really where this piece shines. It adds just a perfect amount of pressure on the roll of paper towel thus making it extremely easy to tear some sheets off. With most holders you have to keep one hand on the holder itself or you run into problems and that just isn't the case with this model. The combination of the weight and lever make grabbing paper towel extremely easy.

Of course it would be criminal of me not to mention how great this thing looks in a kitchen. The stainless steel combined with the overall design, well lets just say its easily one of the best looking paper towel holders on the market. We don't even have a lot of stainless steel in our kitchen and it still looks outstanding. It basically takes an unattractive roll of paper towel and makes it worthy of displaying on your counter top. In all honesty I don't see how something like this could be improved upon. As is its about as perfect as it can get.

If your looking for a paper towel holder then you should at least give this model a look. Its the best model I have seen yet.

This item should be an "Amazon Prime" pick. Works great. Looks fantastic on the countertop. Great value!

Great looking, easily wipes clean. It has a spring in the center that prevents the roll from turning beyond what you are pulling, the outside arm hangs on making it easy to pull off just one sheet, and it is sufficiently heavy to allow you to effortlessly get one sheet using just one hand. No more rolls of paper towels that are dripped upon on top, or wet with finger prints on the sides. The beauty of how this towel holder works has not gone unnoticed by any guest using my bathroom.

The OXO Brushed Stainless Steel Standing paper towel holder works like a charm. I don't have to unscrew a "cap" to remove or add a new roll, you just slide it on and off. The arm that helps to manage the tearing is awesome in that it delicately lays against the roll but not so much that it hampers getting one if you only have one free hand, and this arm works until the end of the roll. The brushed Stainless look makes this product look sleek and modern. I would purchase this item again if the need ever arose.

I ordered two paper towel holders and am very pleased with my purchase. One for the kitchen and the other for my art studio. I use paper towels to clean my oil painting brushes. I usually have a paint brush in one hand and need to be able to control the number of paper towels I need, using the other hand. The paper towel holders have a nice weight and the tension arm allows the user one handed control.

Ever since the paper towel manufacturers have been selling mega-rolls,our old towel dispenser has been standing idle. I looked at a number of new holders and this one seemed to be the best of the lot. Clearly I made a good choice because my wife is delighted with the product.

I was enchanted by the Maria Berntsen towel holder but found to my dismay that it does not fit American size towels.
