From the Manufacturer

The OXO Tot Sippy Cup is a spill proof solution for teaching baby how to drink like a big kid. The 9-ounce Sippy Cup with Handles has soft, non-slip Handles that are angled so baby doesn't have to turn his wrists too far. The Handles are removable for when baby's grasp develops. The cup has a non-slip grip, a dimple in the lid that makes room for little noses and translucent walls to show just how much is left. A leakproof valve releases pressure for comfortable sipping and is easily removable for cleaning. Valve is shaped for easy assembly and cleaning. When your tot is ready help ease the transition from sippy to regular cup with the OXO Tot Training Cup Lid. A translucent lid insert with perforations around the perimeter controls the flow of liquid when your child tilts the cut to drink. A tipped Training Cup will also spill more gradually to minimize messes during the learning process. When tot is ready for the next step, remove the perforated lid insert and the Training Cup converts to a regular cup. Soft, non-slip grips are easy for little hands to hold and the translucent Cup shows just how much is left. All OXO Tot Sippy, Straw and Training Cup lids are interchangeable. Top rack dishwasher safe.

The rubber piece inside the lid doesn't stay in place, which causes the cup to spray everywhere.

I love the idea of the transition lid, although we haven't used it yet so I can't review on effectiveness - It's a great looking cup!

Sippy cups are bound to fall on the floor and every single time this one falls, the valve pops out and water goes everywhere.

I usually buy OXO products without a second thought and this time was no different....I should have read the reviews. This is such a great concept, but we ran into a myriad of problems within the first use or two.

First, the valve. The first thing we noticed after our DD took a few drinks, was that their was fluid pouring out of the spout. After assessing the situation, I discovered that the valve had popped off and was floating in her milk. We secured the valve again, and had the same results; repeat x2.

Second, the valve. There is an 'anchor' on the inside of the lid to which the rubber valve attaches. The rubber valve has a slight grooved area to make this possible. This groove is very, extremely, difficult to clean. It kind of grossed me out when I discovered leftover milk stuck in the groove after I had washed it the day before.

Third, the training lid. Our one year old has been drinking out of our Tervis Tumbler w/ lid for a while, so we thought this lid would be great. What we found, was with so many holes on the trainer, it really performed about the same as a cup without a lid or trainer; water everywhere. If they make another generation of this cup, they should cut the holes down to 2-3 at the most...kids figure out where the juice comes out and they adjust.

OXO. I wrote OXO an email on their website. If I hear anything back from them, I will be happy to pass the message along here.

I really like OXO products, and this was no different. I Like the way the handle comes up from the bottom instead of from the top like most sippy cups. I felt this was easier to control for my little one (who was learning to drink from a cup). My only complaint is that the plastic insert that controls the amount of liquid through the drink holes seems to slip off too easy. I just have to make sure it is really pressed tightly before I give it to my baby.

If your child has the suction of a vampire then this will be a great cup. Neither me or my child could get more than a drop at a time out of this cup. Sure, it doesn't leak, but you can't possibly drink from this cup. I had bought 3 of them also and it was the same with each cup, so it was not a fluke. In the trash they went.

This is one of the first awful OXO products we own. Sippy cups are bound to fall on the floor and every single time this one falls, the valve pops out and water goes everywhere. The mouth piece seems quite large too and our baby just does not like this cup. Don't waste your money. We thought we'd give this cup a chance since almost all our kitchen utensils are OXO, but Playtex cups are so much better.

The majority of the reviews of this product are for the older version, which did indeed have some fairly major design issues with the sippy lid and its silicone insert, however the both of those items have been redesigned to address those issues.

The first issue most noticed with the old version was that the silicone insert would detatch itself from the lid very easily when the cup was dropped or even slammed hard onto the counter / high-chair / table. The second issue was that the silicone insert did not completely inhibit the flow of liquid from the cup, resulting in little puddles being left anywhere the cup was allowed to remain on its side for too long.

After three weeks of daily use with the new version, there's not been a single incident where the insert has fallen out, no matter how many times the cup has been accidentally "dropped" (read: flung with force). There have not been any issues with leakage with the new version either, though I will give it several more weeks of constant use before I consider that problem truly resolved.

Having owned both versions of this product, I will say that I both would not have recommended the previous version AND would have no hesitations recommending this version.

That said, I must also express my disappointment with OXO for not offering the updated lid and insert for sale separately, because I suspect many people out there would rather spend $3-4 on a new lid/insert than $8 to buy the whole thing over again.

Perfect for little hands. Does NOT leak!! You'd think that'd be a no brainer but so many cups leak. This one does not. I love that you can remove the rubber sucking insert. My daughter is breastfed and she couldn't get the hang of how itworked, so we function beautifully without it. The cup is wide open enough that its easy to clean and the spout is also a breeze to clean, if doing it by hand. The training lid is a great bonus and we practice with that sometimes. She's been using this cup since 8 months, now she's 15 months. Its the only one we use! Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

We were so disappointed by these cups. We love the style and function of the oxo brand and were excited to find these.

We bought two. The first one shattered when our toddler dropped it on a wood floor from a height of about 3 feet. That was ridiculous - our baby has dropped other sippy cups on cement and pavement and none of them even got a scratch.

Both of them would inexplicably leak horribly. We're smart people, we know how to screw a top on properly. But our toddler would end up soaked at least every other week. I just threw the cup into the recycling. Don't bother with these folks.
