Medium Duty Plastic Clip,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: OXO Good Grips Stacking Magnetic All-Purpose Clips, 4 Count, Graphite (Kitchen)
Well, because they magnetically stick together, I though that they were made of metal. Wrong! They're plastic. There's a piece of metal bonded into the opposite side of the clip than the side with the magnet. I suspect that when I drop them, they'll break just like the other plastic clips that I'm trying to replace did. Believing them to be metal was a large part of why I bought them. They don't have a home "kitchen" gadget look to them. From the subjective and arguable standpoint, they remind me of clips that are on the end of automotive battery jump-start cables. I guess that's why I think they look like they'd be for an industrial, or a shop, or garden application. To each his own. They do have a nice strong hinge spring (OXO always seems to get that right) but, for my intended use, they are not large enough to replace their larger OXO classic magnetic plastic clips that I had purchased several years ago and worked great until dropped one to many times. They're fine for medium duty use, but not for pet food bags or larger lawn and garden type bags. I don't find any visible composite cloth layers in the clip so I believe that the "graphite" in the description is a reference to the color, not the composition. I'll take correction from OXO if I'm wrong on that. It's a good clip if you can match application to it's capacity.
