Well, as attractive as this kind of thing can ever be, that is!

Solves the age-old problem of how to keep this kind of device around without ugliness. Before, we had the standard plunger, but it didn't have a holder, and the idea of putting it back into our linen closet, or even under the bathroom sink, after use really creeped me out. We would ALWAYS rinse the thing, and then I'd even spritz it with pure rubbing alcohol, but even so....ick.

This solves the problem. We put this next to our toilet, as far back as we could of course, up against the wall, and while it's not a piece of art, it's not horribly offensive, either. As I said, as attractive as this kind of thing can ever be, I suppose. And I like that the "use" end will now be contained (after I rinse it and spray with rubbing alcohol, of course!).

Well, first I would like to say that this plunger and canister set is very beautiful. I love the design. The handle fits well in my hand.The base of the canister is white plastic, so you don't have to worry about the bottom of the stainless steel getting rust on it, because the base is plastic. Also, the handle, like I said fits well in your hand, but the handel is white and the tip of it has stainless steel on it , which I love. HOWEVER, this set is brushed stainless steel! This is a problem that I have with Amazon. I have ordered stainless steel items from them and they were either nickel stainless steel or brushed. My bathroom is polished stainless steel, so you can clearly see the difference in the stainless steel, but I love how beautiful this set is, so I kept it. I also bought the toilet bowl brush set.

I've searched the internet to see if anyone else has had problems with the smell of OXO plungers and I'm not the only one. It is well-designed, but after it's first use the rubber started to release a nauseating smell. I tried everything to clean it but the smell would not go away. Eventually I had to throw it away because my entire apartment was starting to have that smell. The worst part is that it's been about a week and it still smells. I'm worried that it's not going to go away for a long time. I don't know if it only starts smelling after the first use or if I just got a faulty one, but do a Google search and you'll see that there have been similar complaints. Can't be a coincidence.

I really like Oxo products due to their ergonomic design, fit and finish and quality materials used in construction. This unit is particularly stylish with its stainless finish. I haven't actually used my plunger yet but I'm confident that it will perform flawlessly.
