Product Description

OXO SteeL Garlic Press:

The OXO SteeL Garlic Press works swiftly to press the maximum amount of pulp and juice from cloves of garlic. Combining the strength and durability of zinc with large handles and soft, non-slip grips, this large capacity tool easily presses many garlic cloves at once. A built-in cleaner efficiently removes garlic residue, and the Press is dishwasher safe.

It’s the Little Things:

At OXO, we consistently develop products that address even the tiniest of pet peeves, because we know it’s the little things that make the biggest difference. Our engineers designed the SteeL Garlic Press with square-shaped nubs spaced precisely to maximize the amount of garlic pressed, reducing waste and resulting in a garlic mince, not mush.

Features & Benefits:

  • Durable construction, large handles and soft, non-slip grips provide leverage for easy preparation of garlic
  • Large Capacity Chamber can accommodate multiple cloves of garlic for quick and efficient pressing
  • Square-Shaped Nubs maximize pressed garlic and reduce waste; Nubs yield minced garlic, perfect for cooking
  • Built-in Cleaner makes it easy to remove garlic residue

  • Good Tip:

When preparing garlic, it’s best to wash your hands with cold water. Hot or warm water will open up your pores, allowing odors to seep further into your skin.

OXO is dedicated to providing innovative consumer products that make everyday living easier.

I'm afraid I've developed an unhealthy relationship with this garlic press. It's so shiny, and has such lovely heft. Most important, it presses garlic with an incredibly smooth and powerful action. I've started to add way more garlic than normal, just so I can keep using the press.

Post-press, you simply flip over the handle and the nonstick pokey side pushes the garlic remains cleanly out. I usually gather those remains and smush them all back in for a final press. I just can't get enough...

When I'm finished, I just lay it flat in the top section of the dishwasher. It comes out perfectly clean and shiny each time.

    You'll love it. Trust me.

I LOVE this garlic press! I bought it based on the reviews here and I am so glad that I did. I had previously purchased a Kuhn Rikon and it was near impossible for me to smash a clove of garlic; I had to ask my boyfriend to help. I also had a no name one that wasn't bad, but I thought maybe I was missing something when people raved about having a garlic press. I have a hard time mincing garlic with a knife, so I thought I would give this one a try even though the Zyliss had higher ratings on America's Test Kitchen. It really is very sturdy and since it has such a wide opening you can smash 2-3 cloves at a time. You barely have to exert much pressure and it cleans up pretty easily. I will probably have this one the rest of my life because it is so well made. I am very thrilled with this purchase!

This is the best garlic press I have ever seen for any price, ever. Fresh garlic makes such a huge difference. I've gone through about five different presses, and all of them had something I didn't like... except this one!

The cleaner is attached so that it won't get lost. This thing is built like a tank.

I never peel my garlic first. I just toss it in, give it a squeeze, then rotate the handle around to pull out the peel. Rinse it right when you use it, and you'll never have to run it through the dishwasher.

I bought this about a year ago when I lost my previous press. My mother-in-law (who has carpel tunnel syndrome) used it, fell in love with it, and bought her own. Now, I'm buying one as a gift for a friend that thinks cooking with fresh garlic is a pain - he's in for a surprise.

This is hands down the easiest to clean, toughest, and best built garlic press on the market. Way to go OXO!

I thought this garlic press was awesome for about two weeks. One day as I was pressing garlic into a bowl of ingredients, soapy water began leaking out. The hollow handles, although comfortable, allow for water to collect. To use this press I've had to strip the exterior handles off. While the press still works, it is no longer comfortable to use.

The plastic and metal handles slip off almost every time I use it, and water gets caught in the space under these coverings on cleaning, resulting in dish water dripping out on next use.

I have used the Oxo garlic press for a number of years. After cleaning in the dishwasher, water collect's in the handles so I have leave them off. But the real pain is that water also leak's behind the black plastic piece that clean's out the garlic residue so I had to pry it off with a screwdriver.
I have to leave off the handles and the plastic piece to keep out the water.

The whole thing is made of shiney pot metal not stainless steel. Only the handles are stainless so they can call it stainless and it looks pretty when new. Now the chamber behind the plastic cleaner is badly corroded where the dishwasher liquid sat before I removed it as well as the whole thing is corroding.

I also have a Oxo can opener with black plastic handles so I have to leave them off as well or water is trapped in the dishwasher.

It seem's that the design team for Oxo like's the look of black and chrome but they never use them in the real world.

I am going to buy one of solid stainless steel presses, Kuhn Rikon or Rosle from Amazon that will last forever.

At first, when I opened this guy, was impressed with the weight of it alone. After I used it, though, there is an awful lot of garlic that doesn't get pushed through the grid, and then using the built-in mechanism to clear it doesn't really do much either. Through the dishwasher after some coaxing, and the thing still didn't come completely clean.

A garlic press seems like it should be painless. I don't want to think about a garlic press for longer than I am actually using it!

I've broken so many garlic presses, I figured out exactly what was missing... everything this one has. First, you could roll over it with a truck. Second, the grating is *real* thick so it won't ever break (this is where all my old ones broke, the garlic actually snapped the press grids out!). What a champion, I'll be passing this one down to the grandkids in 50 years, no doubt.
